Hadith 493

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever performs ghusl of janabah on Friday and goes to offer the prayer, it is as if he has sacrificed a camel (if he reaches the mosque at the earliest time), and if he goes later, it is as if he has sacrificed a cow, and whoever goes third, it is as if he has sacrificed a horned ram. But when the Imam comes out for the sermon, the angels become engaged in listening to the sermon.

Brief Explanation
The time for attendance at Jumu‘ah begins from the morning itself, and the greatest reward is attained by the one who comes to the mosque at the earliest time for Jumu‘ah. This was the practice of the Salaf of the Ummah, that on the day of Jumu‘ah they would go to the mosque early in the morning. (Raaz)
