Hadith 46

Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the morning prayer at Hudaybiyyah after it had rained during the night. When he finished the prayer, he turned to the people and said, "Do you know what your Lord has said?" The people replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." (The Prophet ﷺ said:) "Your Lord has said: 'This morning, some of My servants have become believers in Me and some have become disbelievers. Whoever said, 'We have received rain by the grace and mercy of Allah,' he is a believer in Me and a disbeliever in the stars. And whoever said, 'We have received rain due to such-and-such star,' he is a disbeliever in Me and a believer in the stars.'"

Brief Explanation
By disbelief (kufr), real disbelief is meant. It is understood from this that whoever considers the stars to have an effect is, according to the text of the hadith, a disbeliever (kafir). Sending down rain is the work of Allah; what can the stars do? (Secret)

Narrator of the hadith: The kunyah of Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani radi Allahu anhu was Abu Zur‘ah, or Abu Abdur Rahman, or Abu Talhah.
