Hadith 428

Aswad (may Allah have mercy on him) asked Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) how the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray at night. She replied that he would sleep at the beginning of the night, then wake up at the end of the night and perform the Tahajjud prayer. After that, he would return to his bed, and when the muezzin gave the call to prayer, he would get up quickly. If he needed to perform ghusl, he would do so; otherwise, he would perform ablution and go out.
