Hadith 363

Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we would perform the 'Asr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then slaughter a camel, divide it into ten portions, and before the sun would set, we would even eat its cooked meat.

Brief Explanation
Hadith Narrator: Sayyiduna Rafi‘ bin Khadij radi Allahu anhu’s kunyah was Abu ‘Abdullah. Due to being young, he was held back from (participating in) Badr. He participated in Uhud and other battles. On the day of Uhud, he was struck by an arrow; when it was pulled out, the arrowhead remained in his flesh and stayed there until his death. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had said, “I will bear witness for you on the Day of Resurrection.” He passed away in Madinah Munawwarah in the year 74 Hijri at the age of 86, during the caliphate of ‘Abdul Malik bin Marwan.
