Hadith 310

Mus'ab, the son of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that I prayed next to my father and placed my two palms together between my thighs. At this, my father stopped me and said: We also used to do this before, but later we were forbidden from it, and it was ordered that we should place our hands on our knees.

Brief Explanation
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu that during bowing (ruku‘), he would join the fingers of both hands and place them between both thighs. Imam al-Bukhari rahimahullah, by bringing this chapter, has indicated that this ruling has been abrogated. (Raaz)
