Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that once the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by an Ansari man while he was saying to his brother, "Why do you feel so much shyness?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him (the Ansari), "Leave him to his state, for modesty is indeed a part of faith."

Brief Explanation
Modesty and shyness are a natural virtuous inclination in a person, which restrains him from indecency, and by virtue of this, he is saved from committing many sins. By modesty is not meant that undue shyness due to which a person’s courage to act is lost altogether, and he begins to seek excuses of shyness and modesty even in the fulfillment of his necessary obligations.
