Hadith 1796

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to deliver sermons to the people every Thursday. A man said to him, "O Abu Abdur Rahman! I wish that you would deliver sermons to us every day." He replied, "Listen! The only thing that prevents me from doing so is that I do not like that you should become weary, and I seek for you the appropriate time for admonition, just as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), out of concern that we might become disheartened, used to look for suitable times for our admonition."
