1753 صحيح حديث أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ رَجُلاً كَانَ قبْلَكُمْ رَغسَهُ اللهُ مَالاً فَقَالَ لِبَنِيهِ لَمَّا حُضِرَ: أَيَّ أَبٍ كُنْتُ لَكُمْ قَالُوا: خَيْرَ أَبٍ قَالَ: فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَعْمَلْ خَيْرًا قَطُّ فَإِذَا مُتُّ فَأَحْرِقُونِي، ثُمَّ اسْحَقُونِي، ثُمَّ ذَرُّونِي فِي يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ فَفَعَلُوا فَجَمَعَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، فَقَالَ: مَا حَمَلَكَ قَالَ: مَخَافَتُكَ فَتَلَقَّاهُ بِرَحْمَتِه
Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the previous nations, there was a man to whom Allah had given abundant wealth. When his time of death approached, he asked his sons, "What kind of father have I been to you?" The sons replied, "You have been the best father to us." The man said, "But I have not done any good deeds throughout my life. Therefore, when I die, burn me, then crush my bones, and (scatter the ashes) in the wind on a stormy day." The sons did as he instructed, but Allah the Exalted gathered him and asked, "Why did you do this?" The man replied, "O Lord, out of fear of You alone." So Allah the Exalted granted him a place in His shade of mercy.
