1750 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: جَعَلَ اللهُ الرَّحْمَةَ مَائَةَ جُزْءٍ فَأَمْسَكَ عِنْدَهُ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ جُزْءًا وَأَنْزَلَ فِي الأَرْضِ جُزْءًا وَاحِدًا فَمِنْ ذلِكَ الْجُزْءِ يَتَرَاحَمُ الْخَلْقُ، حَتَّى تَرْفَعَ الْفَرَسُ حَافِرَهَا عَنْ وَلَدِهَا، خَشْيَةَ أَنْ تُصِيبَهُ
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Allah created one hundred parts of mercy, and He kept ninety-nine parts with Himself and sent down only one part to the earth. It is because of this one part that you see the creation showing mercy to one another, so much so that even a mare lifts its hoof away from its young, fearing that it might harm it.
Brief Explanation
A mare showing such a degree of mercy towards her foal is also a marvel of divine power. Yet, how many people are there in the world who do not know mercy or kindness at all, but rather persist in oppression at all times. They should remember that soon they will suffer the consequences of their injustices, for this is the very law of nature. (Raaz)
