Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah also likes to meet him, and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also dislikes to meet him.

Brief Explanation
Imam Nawawi rahimahullah states that the miracle (karamah) mentioned in this hadith occurs at the time of death, in the state of the pangs of death (naz‘), when repentance and the like are no longer accepted. Because at that time, a person is informed of his abode in the Hereafter, and everything that has been prepared for him is shown to him. Thus, the fortunate ones, desiring to meet Allah, come to love death so that they may attain the rewards, and Allah also loves to meet them. He bestows forgiveness and rewards upon them. Whereas the wretched ones dislike meeting Allah because, due to their evil deeds, they are returning towards evil, so Allah also dislikes meeting them, meaning He distances them from His mercy and grace.
