Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once I was sleeping, and in a dream I saw that people were being presented before me and they were wearing shirts. Some had shirts reaching up to their chests, and some had shirts lower than that. (Then) Umar bin Al-Khattab was brought before me. The shirt he was wearing, he was dragging it. (That is, his shirt was so long that it reached the ground.) The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is the interpretation of this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (It means) religion.

Brief Explanation
That is, the religion was gathered in the noble person of Hazrat Umar al-Faruq radi Allahu anhu in such a manner that no one else attained this honor. From this, it is also understood that since the shirt of Hazrat Umar radi Allahu anhu was the largest, his understanding of religion was also greater than that of others. In the matter of this increase and decrease in religion, there is a refutation of those people who say that faith (iman) does not increase or decrease. (Secret)
