Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we were with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a tent. He said, "Are you pleased that you will be one fourth of the people of Paradise?" We said, "Yes." He said, "Are you pleased that you will be one third of the people of Paradise?" We said, "Yes." Then he said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, I hope that you (the Muslim Ummah) will be half of the people of Paradise. And this will be because no one will enter Paradise except an obedient soul, and you will be among the people (in number) like a white hair on the body of a black ox, or like a black hair on the body of a red ox."
