Hadith 1233

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "Tell me of an action that is equal in reward to jihad." The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "I do not find any such action." Then he (peace be upon him) said, "Can you do this: when a mujahid goes out (for jihad), you go to your mosque and keep offering prayers continuously without feeling any laziness or slackness in between, and in the same way, keep fasting so that not a single day passes without fasting?" That man said, "Who can do such a thing?"
