1163 صحيح حديث الْبَرَاءِ، وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَكُنْتُمْ فَرَرْتُمْ يَا أَبَا عُمَارَةَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ قَالَ: لاَ، وَاللهِ مَا وَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَلكِنَّهُ خَرَجَ شُبَّانُ أَصْحَابِهِ وَأَخِفَّاؤُهُمْ حُسَّرًا لَيْسَ بِسِلاَحٍ، فَأَتَوْا قَوْمًا رُمَاةً، جَمْعَ هَوَازِنَ وَبَنِي نَصْرٍ، مَا يَكَادُ يَسْقُطُ لَهُمْ سَهْمٌ، فَرَشَقُوهُمْ رَشْقًا مَا يَكَادُونَ يُخْطِئُون فَأَقْبَلُوا هُنَالِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ الْبَيْضَاءِ وَابْنُ عَمِّهِ، أَبُو سُفْيَانَ بْنُ الْحارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَقُودُ بِهِ؛ فَنَزَلَ وَاسْتَنْصَرَ؛ ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَنَا النَّبِيُّ لاَ كَذِبْ أَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبْ ثُمَّ صَفَّ أَصْحَابَهُ
A man asked Hazrat Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), "Abu Umara! Did you people flee in the battle of Hunain?" Hazrat Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "No, by Allah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who was the leader of the army, never turned his back. However, among his companions were some young men who were without equipment, who had neither armor nor helmet, and had not taken any weapons with them. They certainly left the battlefield, because in opposition were the best archers of Hawazin and Banu Nasr, whose arrows rarely missed their target. So they showered arrows, and hardly any of their shots missed (during this time, the Muslims) gathered around the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was mounted on his white mule, and his cousin Abu Sufyan bin Harith bin Abdul Muttalib was holding the reins of his mount. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and prayed to Allah Almighty for help. Then he said: 'I am a Prophet, there is no falsehood in this; I am a descendant of Abdul Muttalib.' After this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arranged his companions in ranks (in a new manner)."
