Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that eight people from the tribe of ‘Ukl came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and pledged allegiance to Islam. Then the climate of Madinah did not suit them and they fell ill, so they complained about this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, “Why don’t you go with our shepherd to his camels and drink the milk and urine of the camels?” They said, “Why not.” So they went out and drank the milk and urine of the camels and became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and drove away the animals. When this news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he sent people in pursuit of them. They were caught and brought back. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that their hands and feet be cut off and their eyes be branded with hot irons, then they were thrown out in the sun until they died.
