كتاب النار والجنةThe Book of Hellfire and Paradise
ذَبْحُ الْمَوْتِ وَجُلُودُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فِيهَا وَجُلُودُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فِيهَا
The slaughter of death, the skins of the people of Hell therein, and the skins of the people of Paradise therein
Hadith 13331
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُوْقَفُ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ فَيُقَالُ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ! فَيَطَّلِعُونَ خَائِفِينَ وَجِلِينَ أَنْ يُخْرَجُوا مِنْ مَكَانِهِمُ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ فَيُقَالُ: هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ رَبَّنَا هَذَا الْمَوْتُ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ: يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ! فَيَطَّلِعُونَ فَرِحِينَ مُسْتَبْشِرِينَ أَنْ يُخْرَجُوا مِنْ مَكَانِهِمُ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ فَيُقَالُ: هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ فَيُذْبَحُ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ لِلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كِلَاهُمَا: خُلُودٌ فِيمَا تَجِدُونَ لَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ أَبَدًا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: On the Day of Resurrection, death will be brought and placed over the Sirat (bridge), then it will be announced: O people of Paradise! They will look towards it in fear and anxiety, lest they be removed from their place. They will be asked: Do you recognize this? They will say: Yes, O our Lord! This is death. Then it will be announced: O people of Hell! They will look towards it with happiness, hoping that perhaps they will be ordered to leave their place. They will also be asked: Do you recognize this? They will also say: Yes, O our Lord! This is death. Then Allah Almighty will command regarding this death, and it will be slaughtered on the Sirat, and then it will be said to both groups: Wherever you are, now you will remain here forever; now no one will ever die again.
Hadith 13332
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ فَيُوْقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقَالُ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ! فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ وَفِيهِ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ فَيُذْبَحُ قَالَ: وَيُقَالُ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ! خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ! خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ“ قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ} [مَرْيَم: 39] قَالَ: وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will enter Hell, then death will be brought in the form of a black ram and will be made to stand between Paradise and Hell. Then it will be announced: O people of Paradise! ... (the narration continues as in the previous hadith) ... Further, it is mentioned: Then it will be ordered that death be slaughtered, and it will be said: O people of Paradise! Now you will remain here forever and never die, and O people of Hell! Now you will remain in it forever, never to die. After this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: {وَ اَنْذِرْھُمْ یَوْمَ الْحَسْرَۃِ اِذْ قُضِیَ الْاَمْرُ وَ ھُمْ فِیْ غَفْلَۃٍ} (And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be decided, and they are heedless at that time.) Along with this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand.
Hadith 13333
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”إِذَا صَارَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ فِي النَّارِ جِيءَ بِالْمَوْتِ حَتَّى يُوْقَفَ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ ثُمَّ يُذْبَحُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ! خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ! خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ فَازْدَادَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فَرَحًا إِلَى فَرَحِهِمْ وَازْدَادَ أَهْلُ النَّارِ حُزْنًا إِلَى حُزْنِهِمْ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will enter Hell, then death will be brought and made to stand between Paradise and Hell and it will be slaughtered. Then a caller will announce: O people of Paradise! Now you will remain here forever, death will never come to you. And O people of Hell! Now you too will remain here forever and death will never come to you. Upon hearing this announcement, the happiness of the people of Paradise will increase and the grief and regret of the people of Hell will intensify.
Hadith 13334
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: ”إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ نَادَى مُنَادٍ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ! خُلُودٌ فَلَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ! خُلُودٌ فَلَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ“ قَالَ: وَذَكَرَ بِي خَالِدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ يَذْكُرُ مِثْلَهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَعُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ بَعْدَ الشَّفَاعَاتِ وَمَنْ يَخْرُجُ مِنَ النَّارِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will enter Hell, then an announcer will announce: O people of Paradise! Now you will remain here forever; no one will die here. And O people of Hell! Now you too will remain here forever; no one will die in it. Abu Zubair also narrates a similar narration from Jabir and Ubaid bin Umair, but they also state that this event of the slaughtering of death will occur when intercessions have taken place and those who were to enter Hell temporarily have come out of Hell.
Hadith 13335
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: ”يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ: أَنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَحْيَوْا فَلَا تَمُوتُونَ أَبَدًا وَأَنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَصِحُّوا فَلَا تَسْقَمُونَ أَبَدًا وَأَنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَشِبُّوا وَلَا تَهْرَمُونَ وَأَنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَنْعَمُوا وَلَا تَبْأَسُوا أَبَدًا فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {وَنُودُوا أَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ} [الأعراف: 43]“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A caller will announce: O people of Paradise! Now you will live forever, you will never die; you will remain healthy, you will never fall ill; you will always be young, you will never grow old; you will always be prosperous, you will never be miserable. The meaning of Allah Almighty’s statement is this: { وَنُوْدُوْا اَنْ تِلْکُمُ الْجَنَّۃُ اُوْرِثْتُمُوْھَا بِمَاکُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ۔} (And it will be announced to them that you have been made heirs to this Paradise as a result of your deeds).
