The children of the polytheists
Hadith 13248
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَيْسٍ مَوْلَى غُطَيْفٍ أَنَّهُ أَتَى عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ مَنِ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى غُطَيْفِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ فَقَالَتْ ابْنُ عَفِيفٍ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَسَأَلَهَا عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ أَرَكَعَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ لَهُ نَعَمْ وَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَرَارِيِّ الْكُفَّارِ فَقَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”هُمْ مَعَ آبَائِهِمْ“ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بِلَا عَمَلٍ قَالَ ”اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ“
Mawla-e-Ghatib Abdullah bin Abi Qais came to Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and greeted her with salam. She asked: Who is it? He replied: I am Abdullah, the slave of Ghatif bin Azib. She said: The son of Afif? He said: Yes, O Umm al-Mu'mineen! Then he asked about the two rak'ahs after Asr, whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed these two rak'ahs. She said: Yes. Then he inquired about the ruling concerning the children of disbelievers. She said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said about them: They will be with their fathers in the Hereafter. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Will they be with their fathers (in a bad end) even without having done any deeds? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty knows best what deeds they would have done.
Hadith 13249
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”مَا مِنْ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ إِلَّا عَلَى هَذِهِ الْمِلَّةِ حَتَّى يُبَيِّنَ عَنْهُ لِسَانُهُ فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ أَوْ يُنَصِّرَانِهِ أَوْ يُشَرِّكَانِهِ“ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ مَا كَانَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ ”اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every child is born upon this religion of Islam, until he begins to speak; then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a polytheist. The Companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! What will be the fate of those children who die before reaching that age? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty knows best what deeds they would have done.
Hadith 13250
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَرَارِيِّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ ”اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the children of the polytheists were asked about the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty knows best what deeds they would have done.
