Hadith 13238
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I know the man who will be the last to be released from Hell. That man will come out dragging himself, and it will be said to him: Go and enter Paradise. But when he enters Paradise, he will see that all the people are settled in their places (and there is no place left), so he will return and say: O my Lord! The people in Paradise are already settled in their abodes. It will be said to him: Do you remember the time in the world in which you used to live? He will say: Yes. From Allah Almighty it will be said to him: Wish! So he will wish, then it will be said to him: Whatever you have wished for is for you, and ten times the world as well will be given to you. He will say: O Allah! You are the King, yet You are making fun of me? At that moment, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that his molar teeth became visible.

(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The last person among the people of Paradise to enter Paradise and the last one to come out of Hell will be a man who will crawl out of Hell. Allah Almighty will say to him: Go, enter Paradise. When he comes there, he will feel as if Paradise is full. He will say: O my Lord! It is all full. Allah Almighty will say: Go, enter Paradise. He will return, thinking it is full as before, and say: O my Lord! It is completely full. Allah Almighty will say: Go, enter Paradise. But again, he will feel that Paradise is full. He will return and say: O my Lord! Paradise is completely full. Allah Almighty will say: Go, for you there is in Paradise the space of the whole world and ten times more than that. He will say: O my Lord! Are You mocking me, while You are the King? Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that it was said that this person will be the lowest among the people of Paradise.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The last person to enter Paradise will cross over the Bridge of Sirat. Sometimes he will fall, sometimes he will walk, and sometimes the Fire will scorch him. Eventually, when he crosses the Bridge of Sirat, he will look towards Hell and say: Blessed is Allah, Who has saved me from you. Allah has bestowed such a favor upon me that He has not bestowed upon anyone, neither from the former nor the latter. Then a tree will be shown to him, so he will see it and say: O my Lord! Bring me near to this tree so that I may sit in its shade and drink its water. Allah will say: O My servant! If I bring you near to it, will you not ask Me for anything else? He will say: O my Lord! I promise that I will not ask You for anything else besides this, although Allah knows that he will certainly ask for more, because when he reaches there, he will see things that he will not be able to be patient over. Nevertheless, Allah will permit him to go near that tree. After that, another tree will be shown to him, more beautiful than the first. He will say: O my Lord! Allow me to go near this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and drink its water. Allah will say: O My servant! Did you not promise Me that you would not ask for anything more? He will say: O my Lord! This is my only request, fulfill it for me, I will not ask You for anything else. Then he will make a firm promise to Allah, although Allah knows that he will soon ask for more. Nevertheless, Allah will permit him to go near that tree. After that, a tree more beautiful than the previous ones will be shown to him near the gate of Paradise. He will say: O my Lord! Allow me to go near this tree so that I may rest in its shade and drink its water. Allah will say: O My servant! Did you not promise Me that you would not ask for anything more? He will say: O my Lord! Allow me to go to this tree, I firmly promise that after this I will not ask You for anything more, although Allah knows that he will soon ask for more, because he will see things there that he will not be able to be patient over. Nevertheless, Allah will permit him to go near that tree. When he reaches there and hears the voices of the people of Paradise, he will say: O my Lord! Admit me into Paradise, admit me into Paradise. Allah will say: O My servant! Did you not promise Me that you would not ask for anything more? He will say: O my Lord! Just admit me into Paradise. At that time, Allah will say to him: O My servant! What can prevent Me from you? Are you pleased if I give you the whole world and another world like it as well in Paradise? He will say: O Allah! You are the Lord of Might and Honor, why are You making fun of me? Upon narrating this, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) laughed so much that his molar teeth became visible. Then he asked: Why do you not ask me why I laughed so much? His students said: Please tell us why you laughed. He said: The reason is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated this hadith and laughed, and then said to us: Why do you not ask me why I laughed? We asked: O Messenger of Allah! Why did you laugh? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When that servant said, O Allah! You are the Lord of Might and Honor, why are You making fun of me? Allah smiled at his words.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Four men will be taken out of Hell and presented before Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty will then command that they be taken back to Hell. One of them will turn towards Allah Almighty and say: O my Lord! I had hoped that when You took me out of Hell, You would not return me to it again. Allah Almighty will say: Fine, We will not send you back into it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A servant will call upon Allah in Hell for a thousand years with these words: "Ya Hannan! Ya Mannan!" Eventually, Allah Almighty will say to Jibreel (peace be upon him): Go and bring My servant to Me. When he goes there, he will see that the people of Hell are lying on their faces, weeping. He will return and inform Allah Almighty of this situation, but Allah Almighty will say: Bring My servant who is lying at such-and-such place. Thus, he will bring him and make him stand before Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty will ask him: O My servant! How did you find your place and abode? He will reply: O my Lord! It is a very bad place, the worst abode. Allah Almighty will say: Angels! Take My servant back there. He will say: O my Lord! I did not expect that when You took me out of Hell, You would send me back into it. Upon hearing this, Allah Almighty will say: Leave My servant.
