Hadith 13206
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The distance between the earth and the sky is five hundred years’ journey. Even so, if a stone the size of a large bowl or a skull were dropped from the sky towards the earth, it would reach the earth before nightfall. But if it were dropped from one end of a chain downwards, it would keep descending for forty years before reaching its origin or bottom.
Hadith 13207
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, he says: One day we were sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when we heard a loud thud of something falling. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: Do you know what sound this is? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: This is the sound of a stone, which was thrown into Hell seventy years ago, and it has now reached its bottom.
Hadith 13208
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The name of a valley in Hell is Wail; before reaching its bottom, a disbeliever will keep falling in it for forty years. Similarly, there is a mountain ahead in Hell named Sa'ud. Whoever climbs it, climbs for seventy years, then falls down from it for the same period, and this will continue with him forever and ever.
Hadith 13209
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If an iron mace is placed on the earth and all the jinn and mankind gather to lift it, they still will not be able to lift it.
Hadith 13210
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If an iron mace is struck upon a mountain, it too would be shattered into pieces, yet it would return to its original state. And if a bucket filled with the pus and blood of the inhabitants of Hell were poured out into the world, all the people of the world would be tormented by its stench.
Hadith 13211
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Juz’ Zubaidi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In Hell there are snakes as large as the necks of Bactrian camels; when one of those snakes bites a person, he will feel the intensity of its poison for forty years. And in Hell there are scorpions the size of saddled mules; when one of those scorpions stings a person, he will feel its pain for forty years.
