شَفَاءُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَنَعِيمُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ
The healing of the people of Hell and the bliss of the people of Paradise
Hadith 13196
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”كُلُّ أَهْلِ النَّارِ يَرَى مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ: لَوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هَدَانِي فَيَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً قَالَ: وَكُلُّ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَرَى مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ: لَوْلَا أَنَّ اللَّهَ هَدَانِي قَالَ: فَيَكُونُ لَهُ شُكْرًا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Every inhabitant of Hell will see his place in Paradise and will say: If only Allah had guided me. In this way, this will be a cause of regret for him. And every inhabitant of Paradise will see his place in Hell and will say: If Allah had not guided me, I would have been in that place. In this way, this will be a cause for him to be even more grateful.
Hadith 13197
وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”يُوْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ كَيْفَ وَجَدْتَ مَنْزِلَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ خَيْرَ مَنْزِلٍ فَيَقُولُ: سَلْ وَتَمَنَّ فَيَقُولُ: مَا أَسْأَلُ وَأَتَمَنَّى إِلَّا أَنْ تَرُدَّنِي إِلَى الدُّنْيَا فَأُقْتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الشَّهَادَةِ وَيُوْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ: ابْنَ آدَمَ كَيْفَ وَجَدْتَ مَنْزِلَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ شَرَّ مَنْزِلٍ فَيَقُولُ: أَتَفْتَدِي مِنْهُ بِطِلَاعِ الْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا؟ فَيَقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ نَعَمْ فَيَقُولُ: كَذَبْتَ قَدْ سَأَلْتُكَ أَقَلَّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَأَيْسَرَ فَلَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَيُرَدُّ إِلَى النَّارِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man from among the people of Paradise will be brought, and Allah Almighty will say to him: O son of Adam! How did you find your abode? He will say: O my Lord! The best abode. Allah Almighty will say: Ask for more and wish for more. He will say: I do not ask for anything and I do not wish for anything, except that You return me to the world so that I may be martyred ten times in Your path. The reason for his saying this will be the virtue of martyrdom. Then a man from among the people of Hell will be brought, and Allah Almighty will ask him: O son of Adam! How did you find your abode? He will say: O my Lord! The worst place. Allah Almighty will say: If you had gold equal to the earth, would you give it to be saved from this place? He will say: Yes, my Lord! Allah Almighty will say: You are lying, I had asked you for something less and easier than this, but you did not do even that, then he will be returned to Hell.
Hadith 13198
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”يُوْتَى بِأَنْعَمِ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُصْبَغُ فِي النَّارِ صَبْغَةً ثُمَّ يُقَالُ لَهُ: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ خَيْرًا قَطُّ؟ هَلْ مَرَّ بِكَ نَعِيمٌ قَطُّ؟ فَيَقُولُ: لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَبِّ وَيُوْتَى بِأَشَدِّ النَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَيُصْبَغُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ صَبْغَةً فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ بُؤْسًا قَطُّ؟ هَلْ مَرَّ بِكَ شِدَّةٌ قَطُّ؟ فَيَقُولُ: لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَبِّ مَا مَرَّ بِي بُؤْسٌ قَطُّ وَلَا رَأَيْتُ شِدَّةً قَطُّ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a person from among the people of Hell will be brought, who was the most prosperous in the world. He will be dipped once in Hell, and then it will be said to him: O son of Adam! Did you ever see any goodness? Did you ever enjoy any blessing? He will say: No, by Allah, O my Lord! In the same way, a person from among the people of Paradise will be called, who was the most afflicted and distressed in the world. He will be given a single tour in Paradise, and then he will be asked: O son of Adam! Did you ever see any hardship? Did any distress ever befall you? He will say: No, by Allah, O my Lord! Neither did I ever experience any hardship nor did I ever see any distress.
Hadith 13199
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَحْنُ صُفُوفًا خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الظُّهْرِ أَوِ الْعَصْرِ إِذْ رَأَيْنَاهُ يَتَنَاوَلُ شَيْئًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لِيَأْخُذَهُ ثُمَّ تَنَاوَلَهُ لِيَأْخُذَهُ ثُمَّ حِيلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ ثُمَّ تَأَخَّرَ وَتَأَخَّرْنَا ثُمَّ تَأَخَّرَ الثَّانِيَةَ وَتَأَخَّرْنَا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَأَيْنَاكَ الْيَوْمَ تَصْنَعُ فِي صَلَاتِكَ شَيْئًا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَصْنَعُهُ؟ قَالَ: ”إِنَّهُ عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ الْجَنَّةُ بِمَا فِيهَا مِنَ الزَّهْرَةِ فَتَنَاوَلْتُ قِطْفًا مِنْ عِنَبِهَا لِآتِيَكُمْ بِهِ وَلَوْ أَخَذْتُهُ لَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ مَنْ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَا يَنْتَقِصُونَهُ فَحِيلَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ وَعُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ النَّارُ فَلَمَّا وَجَدْتُّ حَرَّ شُعَاعِهَا تَأَخَّرْتُ وَأَكْثَرُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ فِيهَا النِّسَاءُ اللَّاتِي إِنْ ائْتُمِنَّ أَفْشَيْنَ وَإِنْ سُئِلْنَ أَحْفَيْنَ“ قَالَ أَبِي: قَالَ زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ: الْحَفَنَ وَإِنْ أُعْطِيْنَ لَمْ يَشْكُرْنَ وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا لُحَيَّ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَجُرُّ قُصْبَهُ وَأَشْبَهُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ مَعْبَدُ بْنُ أَكْثَمَ قَالَ مَعْبَدٌ: أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يُخْشَى عَلَيَّ مِنْ شُبْهِهِ فَإِنَّهُ وَالِدُ قَالَ: ”لَا أَنْتَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ جَمَعَ الْعَرَبَ عَلَى الْأَصْنَامِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: It was the time of Zuhr or Asr prayer, we were performing this prayer in rows behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We saw that during the prayer, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was repeatedly trying to grasp something in front of him, but then a barrier was placed between him and it. Then he moved back and we also moved back, he again moved back, and we also moved back. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer with salam, Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Today we saw you doing such an act during the prayer that you never did before in prayer? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Paradise was presented before me with all its blessings, I wanted to pluck a bunch of its grapes so that I could show it to you, and if I had taken it, and all the creatures between the earth and the sky had eaten from it, even then it would not have decreased at all, but then a barrier was placed between me and it. Similarly, Hell was presented before me, when I felt the heat of its flames, I moved back, I saw that the majority in it were those women who, when entrusted with something, do not keep it secret, likewise, when they ask, they insist a lot, and when something is given to them, they betray it. And I saw Lahi bin Amr in Hell, he was dragging his intestines, his appearance resembled that of Ma'bad bin Aktham. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Ma'bad bin Aktham (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! I am afraid because of this resemblance, for after all, he is my ancestor by lineage? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, (it will not harm you, because) you are a believer and he was a disbeliever, rather he is the very person who first led the Arabs towards idol worship.
