صِفَةُ الْحَوْضِ وَمَا جَاءَ فِيهِ
The description of the Pool and what has been narrated about it
Hadith 13128
عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”إِنَّ لِي حَوْضًا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ إِلَى صَنْعَاءَ عَرْضُهُ كَطُولِهِ فِيهِ مِيزَابَانِ يَنْثَعِبَانِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ وَرِقٍ وَالْآخَرُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ وَأَبْرَدُ مِنَ الثَّلْجِ وَأَبْيَضُ مِنَ اللَّبَنِ مَنْ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ لَمْ يَظْمَأْ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ فِيهِ أَبَارِيقُ عَدَدُ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the Hereafter, I will have a cistern; its expanse will be as much as the distance from Aylah to Sana'a, its width will be equal to its length, into it will fall two streams of water coming from Paradise, one stream will be of silver and the other of gold. Its water will be sweeter than honey, colder than ice, and whiter than milk. Whoever drinks from it once will not feel thirst until he enters Paradise. The number of its cups will be as many as the stars in the sky.
Hadith 13129
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”إِنَّ أَمَامَكُمْ حَوْضًا مَا بَيْنَ نَاحِيَتَيْهِ كَمَا بَيْنَ جَرْبَاءَ وَأَذْرُحَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Ahead of you (i.e., in the Hereafter) there will be a reservoir, the distance between its two banks will be as much as that between Jurba and Azrah.
Hadith 13130
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَعَدَنِي أَنْ يُدْخِلَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي الْجَنَّةَ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ“ فَقَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْأَخْنَسِ السُّلَمِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَاللَّهِ مَا أُولَئِكَ فِي أُمَّتِكَ إِلَّا كَالذُّبَابِ الْأَصْهَبِ فِي الذُّبَّانِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”كَانَ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ وَعَدَنِي سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا مَعَ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا وَزَادَنِي ثَلَاثَ حَثَيَاتٍ“ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ ”مِنْ حَثَيَاتِ الرَّبِّ“) قَالَ فَمَا سِعَةُ حَوْضِكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ ”كَمَا بَيْنَ عَدَنَ إِلَى عُمَانَ وَأَوْسَعَ وَأَوْسَعَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ قَالَ فِيهِ مَثْعَبَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ“ قَالَ فَمَا حَوْضُكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ ”أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ وَأَحْلَى مَذَاقَةً مِنَ الْعَسَلِ وَأَطْيَبُ رَائِحَةً مِنَ الْمِسْكِ مَنْ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ لَمْ يَظْمَأْ بَعْدَهَا وَلَمْ يَسْوَدَّ وَجْهُهُ أَبَدًا“ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ وَقَدْ ضَرَبَ عَلَيْهِ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ ضَرَبَ عَلَيْهِ لِأَنَّهُ خَطَأٌ إِنَّمَا هُوَ عَنْ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَامٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has promised me that He will admit seventy thousand individuals from my Ummah into Paradise without reckoning. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Yazid bin Akhnas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! This number in your Ummah is like a reddish-white bee among common bees. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Lord has promised me seventy thousand, and with every thousand, He has promised an additional seventy thousand, and on top of that, there are three handfuls of Allah Almighty besides this number. He then said: O Prophet of Allah! What is the expanse of your Hawd (Pond)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The distance from Aden to Oman, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand and said: Rather, it is even more vast than that, more vast than that. It will have two channels, one of gold and the other of silver. He said: O Prophet of Allah! What will the water of your Hawd be like? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It will be whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, and more fragrant than musk. Whoever drinks from it once will never feel thirst again, and his face will never become dark. Abdullah bin Imam Ahmad says: I found this hadith written in my father's book in his own handwriting, and it was marked, from which I understood that the hadith is not correct in this form; in fact, this hadith is narrated through the chain: from Zayd, from Abu Salam, from Abu Umamah.
