Fath al-Rabbani

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, when the people of faith will be saved from Hell and will be at ease, no believer in the world will dispute as much about his right as these believers will dispute with their Lord about their believing brothers who have been admitted to Hell. They will say: O our Lord! They are our brothers, they used to pray with us, fast with us, perform Hajj with us, yet You have admitted them to Hell. Allah Almighty will say: Go, bring out from them whomever you recognize. They will go to them and recognize them by their faces, for the fire will not burn their faces. Among them, some will have been burnt by the fire up to half their shins, and some up to their ankles. They will bring them out and say: O our Lord! We have brought out those whom You allowed us to bring out. Allah Almighty will say: Whoever has faith in his heart equal to a dinar, bring him out as well. Then He will say: Whoever has faith in his heart equal to half a dinar, bring him out as well. This process will continue until Allah Almighty will say: Whoever has faith in his heart equal to the weight of a particle, bring him out as well. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever does not believe in this hadith, let him recite this verse: {اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّۃٍ وَّ اِنْ تَکُ حَسَنَۃً یُّضٰعِفْھَا وَ یُؤْتِ مِنْ لَّدُنْہُ اَجْرًا عَظِیْمًا} (Indeed, Allah does not wrong [even] as much as an atom’s weight; and if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward). The people of faith will say: O our Lord! We have brought out those whom You allowed us to bring out; now there is no one left in Hell who has any good in his heart. Allah Almighty will say: The angels have interceded, the Prophets have interceded, and the believers have interceded; now only the Most Merciful of the merciful remains. Then Allah Almighty will take out, with one or two handfuls, such people from Hell who never did any good, and they will have become coals from burning. Then they will be brought to the water of life and it will be poured over them, and they will grow as seeds grow in the debris and foam left by a flood. They will emerge from their bodies shining like pearls. On their necks will be a seal on which will be written: ‘The freed ones of Allah.’ It will be said to them: Enter Paradise, and whatever you desire and whatever you see will be yours. And for you, with Me, there is something even better than this. They will say: O our Lord! What could be better than this? Allah Almighty will say: It is My pleasure upon you, so now I will never be displeased with you.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will make some people highly honored in such a way that they will never have done any good deed, but after the intercession of the intercessors, by His mercy, He will take them out of the Fire and admit them into Paradise, even though they will have been burnt there.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Soon, such people will be taken out from Hell who will have been burnt there, rather, having been burnt repeatedly, will have become like coal. The people of Paradise will keep sprinkling water upon them until they grow clean in this way, just as cucumbers grow in the foam of a flood.
