بعْتُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَعَلَامَاتُ بَعْضِهِمْ
The sending of the people of Hell and the signs of some of them
Hadith 13086
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ: يَا آدَمُ! قُمْ فَابْعَثْ بَعْثَ النَّارِ، فَيَقُولُ: لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ، وَالْخَيْرُ فِي يَدَيْكَ، يَا رَبِّ! وَمَا بَعْثُ النَّارِ؟ قَالَ: مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعُ مِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ، قَالَ: فَحِينَئِذٍ يَشِيبُ الْمَوْلُودُ، وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا، وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى، وَمَا هُمْ بِسُكَارَى، وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَدِيدٌ“، قَالَ: فَيَقُولُ: فَأَيُّنَا ذَلِكَ الْوَاحِدُ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”تِسْعُ مِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ مِنْ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ، وَمِنْكُمْ وَاحِدٌ“، قَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”أَفَلَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ وَاللَّهِ! إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَاللَّهِ! إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَاللَّهِ! إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ“، قَالَ: فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”مَا أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ، أَوْ كَالشَّعْرَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الْأَبْيَضِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will say: O Adam! Stand up and separate the portion of Hell. He will say: O my Lord! I am present, all goodness is in Your hand. How much is the portion of Hell? Allah Almighty will say: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine. At that time (such a state of panic will prevail that) children will become old, every pregnant woman will miscarry, and people will appear unconscious, though they will not be unconscious; in reality, the punishment of Allah Almighty will be severe and intense. Someone said: O Messenger of Allah! Who will be that one person among us who will be saved? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The number of Gog and Magog will be so great that) nine hundred and ninety-nine will be from them and one will be from you. Upon hearing this, the noble Companions said, "Allahu Akbar." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Are you pleased that a quarter of the people of Paradise will be from you? By Allah! I hope that a quarter of the people of Paradise will be from you. By Allah! I hope that a third of the people of Paradise will be from you. By Allah! Rather, I hope that half of the people of Paradise will be from you. Upon hearing this, the noble Companions said, "Allahu Akbar," with joy. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, your number compared to other people will be like a few white hairs on the body of a black ox, or a few black hairs on the body of a white ox.
Hadith 13087
عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُنَادِيًا يَنَادِي: يَا آدَمُ! إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَبْعَثَ بَعْثًا مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ إِلَى النَّارِ، فَيَقُولُ آدَمُ: يَا رَبِّ! وَمِنْ كَمْ؟ قَالَ: فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ“، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: مَنْ هَذَا النَّاجِي مِنَّا بَعْدَ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: ”هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي صَدْرِ الْبَعِيرِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will send a caller who will announce: O Adam! Allah commands you to send the portion of Hell from among your offspring towards Hell. Adam (peace be upon him) will say: O Lord! From how many, how many? It will be said to him: Send ninety-nine out of every hundred towards Hell. Upon hearing this, a companion said: O Messenger of Allah! Who will be the one to attain salvation? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you know, on that day your number among the people will be like the mark on the chest of a camel.
Hadith 13088
عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”إِذَا جَمَعَ اللَّهُ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، رُفِعَ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ، فَقِيلَ: هَذِهِ غَدْرَةُ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَانٍ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: On the Day of Resurrection, when Allah Almighty will gather the first and the last, a flag will be raised for every deceiver as a sign, and it will be said that this is the sign of the deceit of so-and-so, son of so-and-so.
Hadith 13089
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُعْرَفُ بِهِ عِنْدَ اسْتِهِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a flag will be set up at the back of every deceiver, by which he will be recognized.
Hadith 13090
عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ”إِنَّ الْكَافِرَ لَيَجُرُّ لِسَانَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَرَاءَهُ قَدْرَ فَرْسَخَيْنِ يَتَوَطَّأُهُ النَّاسُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: On the Day of Resurrection, the tongue of the disbeliever will become as long as two farsakhs (i.e., six miles), and the disbeliever will be dragging it behind him, and people will be trampling over it.
