الْخَسْفُ وَكَثرَةُ الصَّوَاعِقِ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ
The earth swallowing and the increase of thunderbolts before the Hour
Hadith 13049
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ صَحَّارٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُخْسَفَ بِقَبَائِلَ، فَيُقَالُ: مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ“، قَالَ: فَعَرَفْتُ حِينَ قَالَ قَبَائِلَ أَنَّهَا الْعَرَبُ، لِأَنَّ الْعَجَمَ تُنْسَبُ إِلَى قُرَاهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until several tribes are swallowed up by the earth. (When a tribe is swallowed up,) it will be asked: Who among the such-and-such tribe has survived? Sayyiduna Sahar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned tribes, I understood that these would be Arab people, because non-Arabs are referred to by the names of their towns.
Hadith 13050
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ بُقَيْرَةَ امْرَأَةَ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ أَبِي حَدْرَدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا تَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: ”إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِجَيْشٍ قَدْ خُسِفَ بِهِ قَرِيبًا، فَقَدْ أَظَلَّتِ السَّاعَةُ“
It is narrated from Sayyida Baqirah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Qa’qa’ bin Abi Hadard, that she said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say on the pulpit: When you hear that an army near you has been swallowed by the earth, then know that the Hour has come upon your heads.
Hadith 13051
وَعَنْهَا مِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ إِنِّي لَجَالِسَةٌ فِي صُفَّةِ النِّسَاءِ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى فَقَالَ ”يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ يُخْسَفُ هَاهُنَا قَرِيبًا فَقَدْ أَظَلَّتِ السَّاعَةُ“
(Second chain) Sayyida Baqeera (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I was sitting in the women's section when I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon. He was gesturing with his left hand and saying: O people! When you hear that an army nearby has been swallowed by the earth, then know that the Day of Judgment has come upon your heads.
Hadith 13052
وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أُسَيْدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَرْفُوعًا ”إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَنْ تَقُومَ حَتَّى تَرَوْنَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ خَسْفٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ وَخَسْفٌ بِالْمَغْرِبِ وَخَسْفٌ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ وَالدُّخَانُ وَالدَّجَّالُ وَالدَّابَّةُ وَطُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا وَيَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَنَارٌ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ قَعْرِ عَدَنٍ تُرْحِلُ النَّاسَ“ الحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah bin Asid Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until you see these ten signs: sinking in the east, sinking in the west, sinking in the Arabian Peninsula, smoke, Dajjal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from the west, Gog and Magog, and a fire that will emerge from the farthest part of Aden, which will drive people before it... ... .
Hadith 13053
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”تَكْثُرُ الصَّوَاعِقُ عِنْدَ اقْتِرَابِ السَّاعَةِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ الرَّجُلُ الْقَوْمَ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ صَعِقَ مِنْكُمُ الْغَدَاةَ فَيَقُولُونَ صَعِقَ فُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Near the Day of Judgment, faintings will become very frequent, to the extent that a man will come to the people and ask: "Who among you fainted this morning?" They will inform him that such and such persons have fainted.
