It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Ibn Sayyad, while some companions including Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) were with him. Ibn Sayyad was still a child and was playing with other children near the fortress of Banu Maghalah. According to one narration, he had reached the age of puberty. He did not realize the arrival of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went near him, placed his hand on his back, and asked: "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" Ibn Sayyad looked at him and said: "I bear witness that you are the Messenger of the unlettered people." Then Ibn Sayyad said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I believe in Allah and His Messengers." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Who comes to you?" He said: "A truthful one comes to me and a liar as well." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your matter has become confused for you." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am thinking of something in my mind, tell me what it is?" While in the heart of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) it was {یَوْمَ تَاْتِ السَّمَاءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِیْنٍ۔}. He said: "It is ad-Dukh." Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Be disgraced, you will not be able to go beyond your status." Thereupon, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Allow me, I will cut off his neck." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he is the same Dajjal, you will not be able to kill him, and if he is not, then there is no benefit in killing him."
Hadith 12956
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were going with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some children who were playing, and among them was Ibn Sayyad. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "May your hands be dusted! Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" In response, he said: "And do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" Seeing this situation, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to kill him?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he is the same Dajjal about whom you are apprehensive, then you will never be able to kill him."
Hadith 12957
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: We were going with the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he passed by Ibn Sayyad. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I have concealed something in my mind for you, so tell me what it is. Ibn Sayyad said: It is “Dukh.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Be humiliated! You will never be able to go beyond your status. Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: O Messenger of Allah! Allow me to kill him. The Prophet said: No, if he is the same Dajjal you fear, you will never be able to kill him.
