Hadith 12953
Imam Nafi' says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw Ibn Sayyad in a street of Madinah Munawwarah, so he spoke harshly to him and rebuked him. Ibn Sayyad became so enraged that the path was blocked. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had a stick with him; he struck him with it so much that the stick broke. Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to him: What concern do you have with him? What is inciting you against him? Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The Dajjal will emerge at a time when he will be extremely angry?
Hadith 12954
Imam Nafi’ says that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I met Ibn Sayyad twice. The first time I met him, he was with some of his companions. I said to them: I ask you by Allah, if I ask you something, will you speak the truth? They said: Yes. I asked: Will you tell me if this (Ibn Sayyad) is the same (Dajjal)? They said: No, he is not. I said: You are lying. By Allah! Some of you have told me that in the beginning, Dajjal will have the least wealth and children, but when he dies, he will have the most wealth and children. All these things apply to him. After that, I left him and went away. Then, when I met him the second time, I saw that his eye had become damaged. I asked: I see your eye is damaged, since when is it like this? He replied: I do not know. I said: This eye is in your head and you do not know since when it happened? He said: Abdullah bin Umar! What do you want from me? If Allah wills, He can create Dajjal from this stick of yours. After that, he began to snore loudly like a donkey. I had never heard such a (detestable) sound before. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some of my friends say that I had a stick and I beat him so much that it broke. But by Allah! I have no knowledge of this at all. Nafi’ says: Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to his sister, Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), and narrated this incident to her. She said: What concern do you have with him? Do you not know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first appearance of Dajjal before the people will be in the form of intense anger.
