Hadith 12798
Hasan narrates that Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) had a brother who used to take an active part in the tribulations. He would forbid him, but he would not desist. One day, Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: I used to think that a little admonition and advice from me would be sufficient for you, but the situation is that I am seeing the opposite. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When two Muslims come out against each other with their swords and one of them kills the other, then both the killer and the killed will be in Hell. The Companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! The killer is in Hell, but what is the reason for the killed being in Hell? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He had intended to kill his opponent.
Hadith 12799
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When two Muslims raise weapons against each other, both of them are on the edge of Hell, and when one of them kills the other, both enter Hell.
Hadith 12800
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Before the Day of Judgment, there will be "Harj." The companions asked: What is meant by "Harj"? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It means widespread killing. The companions asked: Will there be more killing than what we are doing now? These days, we kill more than seventy thousand people every year. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This killing does not refer to killing the polytheists, rather it means that you Muslims will kill each other. The companions asked: When this situation arises, where will our intellects go in those days? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The intellects of the people of that era will be taken away from them, and ignorant people will dominate the government, and the majority of them will consider themselves to be on the right, while they will not be upon anything of the religion. The narrator of the hadith, Affan, said: Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul! If I and you face such a situation, then I see only one way of salvation for myself and for you, and that is that just as we enter the tribulation empty-handed, we should leave it without taking or giving anything, neither shedding blood nor taking wealth.
Hadith 12801
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sanabhi Ahmasi, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I will be present at the Pond of Kawthar before you, and I will take pride over other nations because of your great numbers, so do not fight among yourselves after me.
Hadith 12802
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I will take pride over other communities because of your great numbers, so do not let it happen that after me you turn into disbelievers and start striking each other's necks.
Hadith 12803
Saeed bin Jubair says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) came to us. We expected that he would narrate to us a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or tell us something good. One of us, a man named Hakam, hastened and said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! What do you say about fighting during the days of tribulation (fitnah)? He said: May your mother lose you! Do you know what fitnah is? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fight against the polytheists; at that time, joining the group of the polytheists or entering their religion was fitnah. That fighting was not like your fighting, which is fought for the sake of gaining power.
