فَصْلٌ فِي فَضْلِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ
Section regarding the virtue of the Day of Arafah
Hadith 12765
قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: كَانَ فُلَانٌ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ الْفَتَى يُلَاحِظُ النِّسَاءَ وَيَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِنَّ، قَالَ: وَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَهُ بِيَدِهِ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ مِرَارًا، قَالَ: وَجَعَلَ الْفَتَى يُلَاحِظُ إِلَيْهِنَّ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”ابْنَ أَخِي! إِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمٌ مَنْ مَلَكَ فِيهِ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ وَلِسَانَهُ غُفِرَ لَهُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he says: On the day of Arafah, a certain man was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and that man began to look attentively towards the women. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, kept turning his face away with his hand from behind, but the man continued to look towards the women. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: Nephew! Whoever controls his ears, eyes, and tongue on this day, his forgiveness will be granted.
