Hadith 12738
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The essence of faith is with the Yemenis, jurisprudence is also from Yemen, and wisdom and understanding are better among the Yemenis. People of Yemen have come to you; they are very soft-hearted. Disbelief is more towards the east, and pride and arrogance are found among those who rear camels and horses and among the desert dwellers, while tranquility and gentleness are found among those who rear goats.
Hadith 12739
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head towards the sky and said: "The people of Yemen have come to you; they are pleasant and beneficial like pieces of clouds. They are the best among all the people of the earth." A man sitting in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! And us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) softly said: "Except you."
Hadith 12740
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the road to Makkah. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The people of Yemen are coming to you, as if they are like pieces of clouds. They are the best among all the people on the face of the earth. An Ansari said: O Messenger of Allah! Are we not better as well? At his words, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, remained silent. He asked again: O Messenger of Allah! Are we not better as well? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, again remained silent. He asked a third time: O Messenger of Allah! And are we not better as well? So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, softly said the third time: Except for you.
Hadith 12741
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah! Curse the people of Yemen, for they are great warriors, very numerous, and their forts are strong. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, I will not curse them. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the non-Arabs. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These Yemenis will pass by you, bringing their women with them and carrying their children on their shoulders; they are from me and I am from them.
Hadith 12742
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards Yemen and said: O Allah! Turn their hearts towards us. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) turned in that direction and said: O Allah! Turn their hearts towards us and bless our Sa’ and Mudd.
Hadith 12743
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me towards Yemen and said: I am sending you to a people whose hearts are very soft and they fight for the truth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated this twice. Take with you those among them who obey you and fight against those who disobey you. Then they will return to Islam, to the extent that a wife will try to surpass her husband, a son his father, and a brother his brother. And you should stay among the two tribes there, Sakoon and Sakasik.
Hadith 12744
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Amir Ash'ari that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best tribe is Banu Asad and the Ash'aris, and these people do not turn their backs and flee from the battlefield, nor do they commit treachery. They are from me and I am from them. Amir said: I narrated this hadith to Sayyiduna Muawiyah, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not say it like that, rather he said: They are from me and their connection is with me. Amir said: My father did not narrate it to me from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this way, rather he said: They are from me and I am from them. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Muawiyah said: You know better the words narrated by your father. Abdullah bin Imam Ahmad said: This is among the excellent ahadith; only Jarir has narrated it.
Hadith 12745
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will be present at the edge of my reservoir, pushing people back so that the people of Yemen may come near and drink water easily. I will wave my staff over the people. He was asked about the width of the reservoir of Kawthar, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Its width will be equal to the distance from my place here to Oman. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the nature of its drink, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Two streams from Paradise will flow into it, one of gold and the other of silver.
