10 hadith
Hadith 12625
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: We went out in the company of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. When we reached the well of Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, at Harrah, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Bring water for ablution. So he performed ablution, faced the Qiblah, and then said: O Allah! Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, was Your servant and friend; he prayed for blessings for the people of Makkah. I, Muhammad, am also Your servant and Messenger; I ask You to grant the people of Madinah twice the blessings in their mudd and sa’ as You granted to the people of Makkah.
Hadith 12626
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The area between the two Harrahs of Madinah is a sanctuary (Haram). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it a sanctuary just as Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had declared Makkah a sanctuary. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Bestow double blessings in Madinah and bless the Sa’ and Mudd (measures) of the people of Madinah.
Hadith 12627
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Allah! Bless our mudd and sa’ and double its blessing.
Hadith 12628
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Malik and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: O Allah! Bless the people of Madinah in their Madinah, and bless them in their Sa’ and Mudd. O Allah! Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was Your servant and friend, and I am also Your servant and Messenger. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed to You for the people of Makkah, and just as he prayed for the people of Makkah, I pray for double blessings for the people of Madinah. Madinah Munawwarah is covered by angels; at every entrance to it, there are two angels appointed who protect it. Plague and Dajjal will not be able to enter Madinah. Whoever intends evil against the people of Madinah, Allah will melt and destroy him just as salt dissolves in water.
Hadith 12629
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Allah! Bestow twice as much blessing in Madinah as there is in Makkah.
Hadith 12630
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) faced towards Syria and made this supplication: O Allah! Incline their hearts towards here. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) faced towards Iraq and then towards every direction of the horizon and made the same supplication. Then he said: O Allah! Grant us sustenance from the fruits of the earth and bless our mudd and sa’ (measures).
Hadith 12631
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and then prayed at the place of Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) located in Harrah, near the houses of Suqya. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated as follows: O Allah! Your Khalil (close friend), servant, and Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for the people of Makkah. I, Muhammad, Your servant, Prophet, and Messenger, pray to You for the people of Madinah just as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for the people of Makkah. We supplicate to You to bless the sa’ and mudd (measures) and fruits of Madinah. O Allah! Just as You have placed the love of Makkah in our hearts, likewise place the love of Madinah in our hearts, and transfer the epidemic and disease from here to Khumm, near Juhfah. O Allah! Just as You declared Makkah a sanctuary by the tongue of Ibrahim (peace be upon him), likewise I declare the area between the two Harrahs of Madinah to be sacred.
Hadith 12632
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, it was the most plague-ridden land on the face of the earth. When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) complained about this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made this supplication: O Allah! Instill love for Madinah in our hearts just as You have instilled love for Makkah in our hearts, or even more than that. And make it pure and healthy by cleansing it of diseases, and bless its mudd and sa’ for us, and transfer its fever from here to Hajfah.
Hadith 12633
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) fell ill. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), his servant Sayyiduna Amir bin Fuhairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also fell ill. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit them, and he granted her permission. So she went and said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): How are you? He replied: Every man is wished a good morning among his family, while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal. Then she asked Sayyiduna Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) about his condition, and he said: I am tasting death even before it comes; indeed, death falls upon the coward from above him. When Sayyidah asked Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) about his condition, he said: I wish I knew on which night I would reach the valley of Fubh near Makkah and spend the night there, and the Idhkhir bush and Jalil grass of that place would be around me. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of their conditions. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his gaze towards the sky and made this supplication: O Allah! Just as You have placed the love of Makkah in our hearts, place the love of Madinah in our hearts, or even more than that. O Allah! Bless us in the Sa’ and Mudd of this place, and transfer its disease to Mahya’ah. The scholars say: By Mahya’ah is meant the place of Juhfah.
Hadith 12634
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), in this version there is no mention of Sayyidina Amir (may Allah be pleased with him). In it, it is stated that Sayyidina Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Every person is wished good morning among his family while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal. When Sayyidina Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) would recover from fever, he would sing and recite: I wish I knew on which night I will go and spend time in that valley, where there will be idhkhir and jalil grass around me, and I will reach the waters of the valley of Majannah, and the mountains named Shamah and Tufail will be before my eyes. O Allah! Disgrace Utbah bin Rabi’ah and Umayyah bin Khalaf, just as they expelled us from Makkah.
