الْبَابُ الْخَامِسُ فِيمَا جَاءَ فِي مَقْبُرَةِ مَكَّةَ وَالشَّعْبِ الْمُقَابِلِ لِلْبَيْتِ
The fifth chapter regarding what has come about the cemetery of Mecca and the valley opposite the House
Hadith 12607
حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي خِدَاشٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمَقْبُرَةِ، وَهِيَ عَلَى طَرِيقِهِ الْأُولَى، أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ وَرَاءَ الضَّفِيرِ، أَوْ قَالَ: وَرَاءَ الضَّفِيرَةِ، شَكَّ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، فَقَالَ: نِعْمَ الْمَقْبُرَةُ هَذِهِ، فَقُلْتُ لِلَّذِي أَخْبَرَنِي أَخَصَّ الشِّعْبَ، قَالَ: هَكَذَا، قَالَ: فَلَمْ يُخْبِرْنِي أَنَّهُ خَصَّ شَيْئًا إِلَّا كَذَلِكَ، أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ وَرَاءَ الضَّفِيرَةِ أَوْ الضَّفِيرِ، وَكُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَصَّ الشِّعْبَ الْمُقَابِلَ لِلْبَيْتِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that regarding the cemetery located on the first road to Makkah, when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached there behind Zafeeriya or Zafeerah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the best cemetery." The one who narrated the hadith to me, I asked him: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) specifically mention the valley as well? He said: These are the exact words; regarding the specification of the valley, he did not inform us, he only stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand towards the back of Zafeerah or Zafeer, and we used to hear that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also specified the valley located in front of the House of Allah (Baytullah).
