Hadith 12541
عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَهْرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ”خُذُوا بِقَوْلِ قُرَيْشٍ وَدَعُوا فِعْلَهُمْ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna 'Amir bin Shahr (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Give importance to the words of the Quraysh and disregard their actions.
Hadith 12542
وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”اسْتَقِيمُوا لِقُرَيْشٍ مَا اسْتَقَامُوا لَكُمْ.“
Mawla of the Messenger, Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Treat the Quraysh well, as long as they treat you well.
Hadith 12543
عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعَتْ أُذُنَايَ وَوَعَاهُ قَلْبِي، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”النَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ، صَالِحُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِصَالِحِهِمْ، وَشِرَارُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِشِرَارِهِمْ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: My ears heard this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and my heart remembered it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: People are followers of the Quraysh; the righteous follow the righteous among the Quraysh, and the wicked follow the wicked among the Quraysh.
Hadith 12544
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ، مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ النَّاسِ اثْنَانِ.“ قَالَ: وَحَرَّكَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ يَلْوِيهِمَا هَكَذَا.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: As long as there remain two men in the world, this authority will always remain with the Quraysh. Along with this, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, moved his two fingers to indicate the number two.
Hadith 12545
عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ يَتَخَوَّلُنَا، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ: لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَهِ قُرَيْشٌ لَيَضَعَنَّ اللَّهُ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ فِي جُمْهُورٍ مِنْ جَمَاهِيرِ الْعَرَبِ سِوَاهُمْ، فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ: كَذَبْتَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ”قُرَيْشٌ وُلَاةُ النَّاسِ فِي الْخَيْرِ وَالشَّرِّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.“
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Huzail, he says: Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to take great care of us. Someone from the tribe of Bakr bin Wa'il said: If the Quraysh do not desist from their actions, this authority will be taken from them and will pass to other Arab tribes. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You are wrong. I myself heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that whether it is a good deed or a bad one, in every matter until the Day of Judgment, the Quraysh will remain the leaders of the people.
Hadith 12546
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”إِنَّ لِي عَلَى قُرَيْشٍ حَقًّا، وَإِنَّ لِقُرَيْشٍ عَلَيْكُمْ حَقًّا، مَا حَكَمُوا فَعَدَلُوا، وَأْتُمِنُوا فَأَدَّوْا، وَاسْتُرْحِمُوا فَرَحِمُوا.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Some of my rights are due upon the Quraysh, and some rights of the Quraysh are due upon you, as long as they continue to judge with justice and fairness, as long as when trusts are deposited with them, they fulfill those trusts, and as long as when mercy is sought from them, they show compassion.
