الْبَابُ الأَوَّلُ فِي إِكْرَامِ قُرَيْشٍ وَعَدْمِ إِهَانَتِهِمْ أَوْ سَبُّھِمْ
The first chapter regarding honoring Quraysh and not insulting or reviling them
Hadith 12537
عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”مَنْ يُرِدْ هَوْنَ قُرَيْشٍ أَهَانَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever intends to insult the Quraysh, Allah Almighty will disgrace and humiliate him.
Hadith 12538
وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبِي يَا بُنَيَّ إِنْ وَلِيتَ مِنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ شَيْئًا فَأَكْرِمْ قُرَيْشًا فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”مَنْ أَهَانَ قُرَيْشًا أَهَانَهُ اللَّهُ“
It is narrated from Amr bin Uthman bin Affan, he says: My father said to me: Dear son! If you ever get the opportunity to rule over people, honor the Quraysh. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever insults the Quraysh, Allah will humiliate and disgrace him.
Hadith 12539
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ قَتَادَةَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ الظَّفَرِيَّ وَقَعَ بِقُرَيْشٍ فَكَأَنَّهُ نَالَ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”يَا قَتَادَةُ لَا تَسُبَّنَّ قُرَيْشًا فَلَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَرَى مِنْهُمْ رِجَالًا تَزْدَرِي عَمَلَكَ مَعَ أَعْمَالِهِمْ وَفِعْلَكَ مَعَ أَفْعَالِهِمْ وَتَغْبِطُهُمْ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ لَوْلَا أَنْ تَطْغَى قُرَيْشٌ لَأَخْبَرْتُهُمْ بِالَّذِي لَهُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ“ قَالَ يَزِيدُ سَمِعَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ وَأَنَا أُحَدِّثُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ هَكَذَا حَدَّثَنِي عَاصِمُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ibrahim that Sayyiduna Qatadah bin Nu'man Zufari (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke critically about the Quraysh and also spoke ill of them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Qatadah! Do not speak ill of the Quraysh. It may be that you will see among them such individuals that, compared to their deeds, your own deeds will seem insignificant to you, and you will consider your actions inferior to theirs, and when you see them, you will envy them. If it were not for the fear that the Quraysh would become boastful and arrogant, I would have informed you of the status they have with Allah the Exalted."
Hadith 12540
عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُرَيْشًا فَقَالَ ”هَلْ فِيكُمْ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ“ قَالُوا لَا إِلَّا ابْنَ أُخْتِنَا وَحَلِيفَنَا وَمَوْلَانَا فَقَالَ ”ابْنُ أُخْتِكُمْ مِنْكُمْ وَحَلِيفُكُمْ مِنْكُمْ وَمَوْلَاكُمْ مِنْكُمْ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا أَهْلُ صِدْقٍ وَأَمَانَةٍ فَمَنْ بَغَى لَهَا الْعَوَائِرَ أَكَبَّهُ اللَّهُ فِي النَّارِ لِوَجْهِهِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rifa’ah bin Rafi’ Zurqi that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gathered the Quraysh and said: “Is there any non-Qurayshi among you at this time?” They said: “No, except for our nephew, an ally, and a servant.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Your nephew, your ally, and your servant are from among you. Indeed, the Quraysh are bearers of truthfulness and trustworthiness. Whoever seeks out their shortcomings and slips, Allah will throw him face down into Hell.”
