الْبَابُ الثَّانِي مِقْدَارُ الْأُمَّةِ الْمُحَمَّدِيَّةِ فِي الْأُمَمِ الْأُخْرَى وَأَنَّهَا ثُلُنَا أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ
The second chapter regarding the status of the Muhammadan nation among other nations and that they are a third of the people of Paradise
Hadith 12487
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قُبَّةٍ نَحْوٌ مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ فَقَالَ ”أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ“ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ ”أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ“ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ ”وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَذَاكَ أَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا يَدْخُلُهَا إِلَّا نَفْسٌ مُسْلِمَةٌ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ فِي الشِّرْكِ إِلَّا كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ ثَوْرٍ أَسْوَدَ أَوِ السَّوْدَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ ثَوْرٍ أَحْمَرَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were about forty men with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a tent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Are you pleased that you will be a fourth of the people of Paradise? We said: Yes. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Are you pleased that your number will be a third of the people of Paradise? We said: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I hope that half of the people of Paradise will be you, because only those will enter Paradise who are Muslims, and in comparison to the polytheists, your number is like a white hair on the skin of a black ox or a black hair on the skin of a red ox.
Hadith 12488
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَرُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ لَكُمْ رُبُعُهَا وَلِسَائِرِ النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَرْبَاعِهَا“ قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ ”فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَثُلُثَهَا“ قَالُوا فَذَاكَ أَكْثَرُ قَالَ ”فَكَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ وَالشَّطْرَ“ قَالُوا فَذَلِكَ أَكْثَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ أَنْتُمْ مِنْهَا ثَمَانُونَ صَفًّا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What will be your condition at that time, when you will be one fourth of the people in Paradise, a full quarter of Paradise only for you, and the remaining three quarters for all the other communities? The companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What will your condition be at that time, when you will be one third of the people in Paradise? The companions said: Then we will be even more than before. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the people of Paradise will be in one hundred and twenty rows, out of which eighty rows will be yours.
Hadith 12489
وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ مِنْهُمْ ثَمَانُونَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ“ وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً ”أَنْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ ثَمَانُونَ صَفًّا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The people of Paradise will be in one hundred and twenty rows, of which eighty rows will be from my Ummah.

Hadith 12491
عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ“ قَالَ فَكَبَّرْنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ ”أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ النَّاسِ“ قَالَ فَكَبَّرْنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ ”أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا الشَّطْرَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: I hope that those who follow me from my Ummah will be one fourth of all the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection. Sayyiduna Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, says: Upon hearing this, we said Allahu Akbar with joy. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I hope that my followers will be one third of the people of Paradise. Upon hearing this, we again said Allahu Akbar with joy. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I hope that my followers will be half of the total number of the people of Paradise.
Hadith 12492
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِآدَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ قُمْ فَجَهِّزْ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ تِسْعَ مِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَوَاحِدًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ“ فَبَكَى أَصْحَابُهُ وَبَكَوْا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”ارْفَعُوا رُءُوسَكُمْ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا أُمَّتِي فِي الْأُمَمِ إِلَّا كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ“ فَخَفَّفَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will say to Adam (peace be upon him): “Rise and separate from your progeny nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand for Hell and one for Paradise.” Upon hearing this, all the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) began to weep. After this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to them: “Raise your heads! By Him in Whose hand is my soul! In comparison to other communities, the example of my community is like a white hair on the skin of a black ox.” Upon hearing this, the grief of the Companions was somewhat alleviated.
Hadith 12493
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُدْعَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ آدَمُ فَيُقَالُ هَذَا أَبُوكُمْ آدَمُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ رَبُّنَا أَخْرِجْ نَصِيبَ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ وَكَمْ فَيَقُولُ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ“ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِذَا أُخِذَ مِنَّا مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ فَمَاذَا يَبْقَى مِنَّا قَالَ ”إِنَّ أُمَّتِي فِي الْأُمَمِ كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: On the Day of Resurrection, Adam (peace be upon him) will be brought first and it will be said: This is your father Adam (peace be upon him). Adam (peace be upon him) will say: O my Lord! I am present. Then our Lord will say to him: Separate the portion of Hell from your offspring. He will say: O my Lord! How much is the portion? Allah Almighty will say: Ninety-nine out of every hundred. We said: O Messenger of Allah! If ninety-nine out of every hundred are taken out, then how many of us will remain to enter Paradise? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: In comparison to the other communities, my community will be like a white hair on the skin of a black bull.
