Fath al-Rabbani
Chapter
ابْتَدَاءُ الدَّوْلَةِ الْعَبَّاسِيَّةِ وَاخْبَارُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْعَبَّاسَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ بِذَلِكَ
The beginning of the Abbasid state and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) informing al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) about it
Hadith 12465
عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَقَالَ ”انْظُرْ هَلْ تَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ مِنْ نَجْمٍ“ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ ”مَا تَرَى“ قَالَ قُلْتُ أَرَى الثُّرَيَّا قَالَ ”أَمَا إِنَّهُ يَلِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةَ بِعَدَدِهَا مِنْ صُلْبِكَ اثْنَانِ فِي فِتْنَةٍ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: One night I was in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you see any star in the sky? I said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What do you see? I said: I am seeing the Thurayya (Pleiades) stars. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: From your progeny, in every era of tribulation, two men—equal to the number of the Thurayya stars—will rule over this Ummah.
Hadith 12466
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدِ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”يَخْرُجُ عِنْدَ انْقِطَاعٍ مِنَ الزَّمَانِ وَظُهُورٍ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ السَّفَّاحُ فَيَكُونُ إِعْطَاؤُهُ الْمَالَ حَثْيًا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: At the end of the world and at the time of the appearance of tribulations, a man named Saffah will appear, he will distribute wealth and riches among the people with both hands full.
