الْبَابُ السَّادِسُ فِي بَعْثِهِ أَيْضًا إِلَى مَكَّةَ بَعْدَ قَتْلِ مُصْعَبِ بِالْعِرَاقِ لِقَتْلِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بِمَكَّةَ فَقَتَلَهُ بِهَا وَلَمْ يُرَاعِ حُرْمَةَ الْبَيْتِ
The sixth chapter regarding his sending (al-Hajjaj) also to Mecca after the killing of Mus'ab in Iraq to kill Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr in Mecca, where he killed him and did not respect the sanctity of the House

Hadith 12455
عَنْ أَبِي الصَّدَّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ أَنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ بَعْدَ مَا قُتِلَ ابْنُهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ ابْنَكِ أَلْحَدَ فِي هَذَا الْبَيْتِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَذَاقَهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ أَلِيمٍ وَفَعَلَ بِهِ مَا فَعَلَ فَقَالَتْ كَذَبْتَ كَانَ بَرًّا بِالْوَالِدَيْنِ صَوَّامًا وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”أَنَّهُ سَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ كَذَّابَانِ الْآخِرُ مِنْهُمَا شَرُّ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِ وَهُوَ مُبِيرٌ“
It is narrated from Abu Sadiq Naji that when Hajjaj bin Yusuf had killed Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), after that he went to his mother, Sayyida Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), and said: "Your son committed heresy inside the House of Allah, so Allah subjected him to a painful punishment and did much to him." Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "You are lying. He was extremely dutiful to his parents, he used to fast a lot during the day and stand in prayer a lot during the night. By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has already informed us that soon two liars will appear from the tribe of Thaqif; the latter of them will be worse than the former and he will be very bloodthirsty."
Hadith 12456
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ سَعْدَوَيْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ عَنْتَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قَتَلَ الْحَجَّاجُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَصَلَبَهُ مَنْكُوسًا فَبَيْنَا هُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ إِذْ جَاءَتْ أَسْمَاءُ وَمَعَهَا أَمَةٌ تَقُودُهَا وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهَا فَقَالَتْ أَيْنَ أَمِيرُكُمْ فَذَكَرَ قِصَّةً فَقَالَتْ كَذَبْتَ وَلَكِنِّي أُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”يَخْرُجُ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ كَذَّابَانِ الْآخِرُ مِنْهُمَا أَشَرُّ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِ وَهُوَ مُبِيرٌ“
It is narrated from Antarah that when Hajjaj killed Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) and hung him upside down, he was on the pulpit at that time. Suddenly, Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) came; her eyesight had gone, and a slave girl was holding her hand and brought her. Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "People! Where is your leader?" After this, Antarah narrated the detailed incident. At the end of it, it is mentioned: Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Hajjaj: "You are lying. I will narrate to you a hadith which I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Two liars will emerge from the tribe of Thaqif; the latter of them will be even more evil than the former, and he will be extremely bloodthirsty.'"
Hadith 12457
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”إِنَّ فِي ثَقِيفٍ مُبِيرًا وَكَذَّابًا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the tribe of Thaqif, there will be a destroyer, that is, a bloodshedder, and a liar.
Hadith 12458
عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ شَكَوْنَا إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ فَقَالَ اصْبِرُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ عَامٌ أَوْ يَوْمٌ إِلَّا الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Zubair bin Adi, he says: We complained to Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) about the oppression of Hajjaj. He said: Be patient, I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "No day or year comes upon you except that the one following it is worse than the one before, until you meet your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic."
Hadith 12459
وَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ مَا أَعْرِفُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا عَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْيَوْمَ فَقَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ وَلَا الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا صَنَعَ الْحَجَّاجُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whatever I used to see while being with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), today I do not see any of that. Abu Rafi’ said: O Abu Hamzah! Is the prayer also not the same as before? He said: Do you not know what Hajjaj has done to the prayer as well?
