Hadith 12432
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَ بَعَثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ إِلَى ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فُلَانٍ نَسِيَ زِيَادٌ اسْمَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَنَعُوا مَا صَنَعُوا فَمَا تَرَى فَقَالَ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ شَيْئًا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْفِتَنِ فَاعْمَدْ إِلَى أُحُدٍ فَاكْسِرْ بِهِ حَدَّ سَيْفِكَ ثُمَّ اقْعُدْ فِي بَيْتِكَ قَالَ فَإِنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ فَقُمْ إِلَى الْمَخْدَعِ فَإِنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْمَخْدَعَ فَاجْثُ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْكَ وَقُلْ بُؤْ بِإِثْمِي وَإِثْمِكَ فَتَكُونَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ وَذَلِكَ جَزَاءُ الظَّالِمِينَ فَقَدْ كَسَرْتُ حَدَّ سَيْفِي وَقَعَدْتُ فِي بَيْتِي“
It is narrated from Abu Ash’ath San’ani, he said: Yazid bin Muawiyah sent us against Sayyiduna Ibn Zubair, may Allah be pleased with him. When I reached Madinah Munawwarah, I went to so-and-so; Ziyad had mentioned his name. He said: Are you seeing what the people are doing? What is your opinion about these circumstances? He said: My beloved Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me that if you see any of these tribulations, then break the edge of your sword and sit inside your house. If any troublemaker enters your house, then hide in a small room, and if someone comes into your small room, then sit on your knees and say: Return with the sin of my murder and your own sins; your end is Hell, and this is the recompense of the wrongdoers. Therefore, O brother! I have broken the edge of my sword and am sitting inside my house.
