Hadith 12343
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ عَمَّارًا يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا آدَمَ طُوَالًا آخِذًا الْحَرْبَةَ بِيَدِهِ وَيَدُهُ تَرْعَدُ فَقَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ قَاتَلْتُ بِهَذِهِ الرَّايَةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَهَذِهِ الرَّابِعَةُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ ضَرَبُونَا حَتَّى يَبْلُغُوا بِنَا شَعَفَاتِ هَجَرَ لَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّ مُصْلِحِينَا عَلَى الْحَقِّ وَأَنَّهُمْ عَلَى الضَّلَالَةِ
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Salamah, he said: I saw Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) on the day of the Battle of Siffin. He had become very old, his complexion was wheatish and his stature was tall. He was holding a spear in his hand and his hand was trembling. He said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul! I have fought three battles in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with this flag, today is the fourth battle. By Him in Whose hand is my soul! Even if these people drive us away, beating us towards the mountains of Hajar, still I know that those who are reforming us are upon the truth and the others are upon the path of misguidance.
Hadith 12344
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ مَا زَالَ جَدِّي يَعْنِي خُزَيْمَةَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَافًّا سِلَاحَهُ يَوْمَ الْجَمَلِ حَتَّى قُتِلَ عَمَّارٌ بِصِفِّينَ فَسَلَّ سَيْفَهُ فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”تَقْتُلُ عَمَّارًا الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ“
Muhammad bin Ammarah says: My grandfather, Sayyiduna Khuzaimah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), withheld his weapons on the day of the Battle of Jamal, until when Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred at Siffin, then he drew his sword and kept fighting until he was martyred. He stated the reason that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A rebellious group will kill Ammar."
Hadith 12345
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”وَيْحَ عَمَّارٍ تَقْتُلُهُ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَيَدْعُونَهُ إِلَى النَّارِ“ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ عَمَّارٌ يَقُولُ أَعُوذُ بِالرَّحْمَنِ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Alas! 'Ammar will be killed by a rebellious group. He will be calling them towards Paradise, but they will be calling him towards Hell." Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna 'Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I seek refuge with the Most Merciful from tribulations."
Hadith 12346
عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عَمَّارٌ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ ائْتُونِي بِشَرْبَةِ لَبَنٍ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”آخِرُ شَرْبَةٍ تَشْرَبُهَا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا شَرْبَةُ لَبَنٍ“ فَأُتِيَ بِشَرْبَةِ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَهَا ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ فَقُتِلَ
It is narrated from Abu Bakhtari, he says: On the day of Siffin, Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Bring me milk to drink. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The last drink you will have in this world will be milk. So milk was presented to him, he drank it, after that he advanced towards the battlefield and was martyred.
Hadith 12347
عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قُتِلَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ دَخَلَ عَمْرُو بْنُ حَزْمٍ عَلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ فَقَالَ قُتِلَ عَمَّارٌ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”تَقْتُلُهُ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ“ فَقَامَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ فَزِعًا يُرَجِّعُ حَتَّى دَخَلَ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ مَا شَأْنُكَ قَالَ قُتِلَ عَمَّارٌ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ قَدْ قُتِلَ عَمَّارٌ فَمَاذَا قَالَ عَمْرٌو سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”تَقْتُلُهُ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ“ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ دُحِضْتَ فِي بَوْلِكَ أَوَ نَحْنُ قَتَلْنَاهُ إِنَّمَا قَتَلَهُ عَلِيٌّ وَأَصْحَابُهُ جَاءُوا بِهِ حَتَّى أَلْقَوْهُ بَيْنَ رِمَاحِنَا أَوْ قَالَ بَيْنَ سُيُوفِنَا
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Amr bin Hazm, he says: When Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, Sayyiduna Amr bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him) went to Sayyiduna Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him that Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) had been martyred, while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said that a rebellious group would kill Ammar. Hearing this, Sayyiduna Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) became anxious and, reciting "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return," went to Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). Seeing his condition, Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: What has happened to you? He informed him that Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) had been martyred. Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Ammar has been killed, so what? Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a rebellious group would kill Ammar. Hearing this, Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Slip in your urine! Did we kill him? Rather, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions caused him to be killed; they brought him and placed him among our spears or swords.
Hadith 12348
عَنْ أَبِي غَادِيَةَ قَالَ قُتِلَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ فَأُخْبِرَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”إِنَّ قَاتِلَهُ وَسَالِبَهُ فِي النَّارِ“ فَقِيلَ لِعَمْرٍو فَإِنَّكَ هُوَ ذَا تُقَاتِلُهُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا قَالَ ”قَاتِلَهُ وَسَالِبَهُ“
Abu Ghadiyah says: When Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred and people informed Sayyiduna Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) about it, he said: I heard that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one who kills him and the one who seizes his belongings after his killing will go to Hell. Someone said to Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him): Are you not also fighting against him? He replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said this regarding his killer and the one who seizes his wealth.
Hadith 12349
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَسِيرُ مَعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فِي مُنْصَرَفِهِ مِنْ صِفِّينَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ يَا أَبَتِ مَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لِعَمَّارٍ ”وَيْحَكَ يَا ابْنَ سُمَيَّةَ تَقْتُلُكَ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ“ قَالَ فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو لِمُعَاوِيَةَ أَلَا تَسْمَعُ مَا يَقُولُ هَذَا فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَا تَزَالُ تَأْتِينَا بِهَنَةٍ أَنَحْنُ قَتَلْنَاهُ إِنَّمَا قَتَلَهُ الَّذِينَ جَاءُوا بِهِ
Abdullah bin Harith says: On the return from the Battle of Siffin, I was walking between Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Father! Did you not hear that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him): O son of Sumayyah! Alas, a rebellious group will kill you. Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him): Do you hear what he is saying? Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do you always say things that cause distress? Did we kill him? He was killed by those who brought him to the battlefield.
