It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him): May Allah protect you from the rule of fools and incompetent people. Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: What is meant by the rule of fools? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The rulers who will come after me, they will not follow my way and will not act upon my Sunnahs. Whoever affirms them despite their lies and helps them despite their oppression and injustice, he has no connection with me and I have no connection with him, nor will he come to me at my Pond. And whoever does not affirm their lies and does not help them in their oppression, he is of me and I am of him, and these are the people who will come to me at my Pond.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka’b bin ‘Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us; we were nine men, and there was a leather cushion placed among us. He said: “Soon after me, there will come rulers who will lie and commit injustice. Whoever goes to them and affirms their lies…” Then words similar to the previous narration were mentioned. The apparent reason for the dropping of the indicative noon in the imperfect verb is not visible (Researcher, Musnad). (Abdullah Rafiq)

He (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his gaze towards the sky and then lowered it, until we thought that some important event had occurred in the sky. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware! After me, there will come rulers who will lie and commit injustice. Whoever affirms their lies and helps them in their injustice, he has no connection with me and I have no connection with him. And whoever does not affirm their lies and does not agree with them in their injustice, he is mine and I am his. Beware! The blood of a Muslim is atonement, and these words are among the lasting righteous deeds: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon, some rulers will be imposed over you; you will see that they give preference to those who are not deserving over those who are deserving. The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! What should a person do who finds himself in such circumstances? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fulfill the rights that are upon you, and ask Allah for your own rights.
In another narration: After me, you will see that preference will be given to the unworthy and undeserving, and you will see such actions that you will not approve of. We said: In such a situation, what do you command us to do? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Continue to fulfill the rights that are upon you, and keep asking Allah for your own rights.
