Hadith 12056
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”مَا مِنْ نَبِيٍّ وَلَا وَالٍ إِلَّا وَلَهُ بِطَانَتَانِ بِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ وَتَنْهَاهُ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَبِطَانَةٌ لَا تَأْلُوهُ خَبَالًا وَمَنْ وُقِيَ شَرَّهُمَا فَقَدْ وُقِيَ وَهُوَ مَعَ الَّتِي تَغْلِبُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُمَا“
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every prophet and ruler has two confidants; one confidant commands him to do good and forbids him from evil, and the other leaves no stone unturned in seeking his destruction and ruin. The ruler who is saved from his evil is indeed protected, and he is with the one who prevails among them.
Hadith 12057
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”مَنْ وَلَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَيْئًا فَأَرَادَ بِهِ خَيْرًا جَعَلَ لَهُ وَزِيرَ صِدْقٍ فَإِنْ نَسِيَ ذَكَّرَهُ وَإِنْ ذَكَرَ أَعَانَهُ“
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty entrusts a person with the affairs of the Muslims and then intends goodness for him, He grants him a sincere minister; if he begins to forget, that minister reminds him, and if he remembers, that minister assists him.
Hadith 12058
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”مَا بُعِثَ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ وَلَا اسْتُخْلِفَ مِنْ خَلِيفَةٍ إِلَّا كَانَتْ لَهُ بِطَانَتَانِ بِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالْخَيْرِ وَتَحُضُّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَبِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالشَّرِّ وَتَحُضُّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَالْمَعْصُومُ مَنْ عَصَمَ اللَّهُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No prophet was ever sent, nor was any caliph ever granted caliphate, except that he had two special advisors—one advisor commands him to do good and encourages him towards it, and the other advisor commands him to do evil and incites him towards it. In any case, only that person will be protected whom Allah Almighty saves.
Hadith 12059
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زُرَيْرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَسَنٌ يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى فَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْنَا خَزِيرَةً فَقُلْتُ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ لَوْ قَرَّبْتَ إِلَيْنَا مِنْ هَذَا الْبَطِّ يَعْنِي الْوَزَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَكْثَرَ الْخَيْرَ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ زُرَيْرٍ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ”لَا يَحِلُّ لِلْخَلِيفَةِ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا قَصْعَتَانِ قَصْعَةٌ يَأْكُلُهَا هُوَ وَأَهْلُهُ وَقَصْعَةٌ يَضَعُهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّاسِ“
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Zareer, he says: On the day of Eid al-Adha, I went to the house of Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), he presented khazirah to us. I said: May Allah rectify your condition, if you had presented some of the meat of this duck before us, how good it would have been, Allah has made you prosperous and well-off. He said: O Ibn Zareer, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: It is only permissible for the caliph to take two bowls from the wealth of Allah, that is, the treasury (bayt al-mal): one bowl for his own and his family's food, and the other to present before the people.
Hadith 12060
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مَرَّتْ إِبِلُ الصَّدَقَةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَأَهْوَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى وَبَرَةٍ مِنْ جَنْبِ بَعِيرٍ فَقَالَ ”مَا أَنَا بِأَحَقَّ بِهَذِهِ الْوَبَرَةِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the camels of charity passed near the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He pointed towards the wool on the side of one of the camels and said: As much as an ordinary Muslim is entitled to this wool, I am not more entitled to it than him.
