Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) wept out of grief at the thought of separation from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Hadith 11887
It is narrated from Amr bin Maymoon Audhi, he says: The agent of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, our master Mu'adh bin Jabal Yamani, may Allah be pleased with him, came to us. I heard that at the time of suhoor he said "Allahu Akbar" in a loud and clear voice. Love for him settled in my heart, and I did not separate from him until his death. I even put soil on his grave after his death in Sham. After that, I did not consider who was the most knowledgeable person after him. So I went to the service of Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him. He said to me: What will be your condition when your rulers will delay the prayers, i.e., perform them out of their proper time? I asked: If I face such circumstances, what do you command me to do? He said: You should perform the prayer at its earliest time, and count the prayer performed with them as nafl (supererogatory).

Hadith 11888
It is narrated from Abu Muneeb Ahadab that Sayyiduna Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon in Syria and, mentioning the plague, said: The plague is a mercy from your Lord upon you, and a supplication of your Prophet, and for those before you, it was the cause of the death of the righteous. O Allah! Send down upon the family of Mu’adh their share from this mercy. After this, Sayyiduna Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) descended from the pulpit and came to his son Abdur Rahman. Abdur Rahman said: (الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ) .... The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among those who doubt. Hearing this, Sayyiduna Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Soon, if Allah wills, you will find me among the patient ones.

Hadith 11889
It is narrated from Ismail bin Ubaidullah that Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon you people will migrate towards the land of Sham, and it will be conquered at your hands, and among you a disease like a piece of flesh (i.e., plague) will enter, which will affect the lower part of a person's abdomen. Allah Almighty will grant people the rank of martyrdom through this disease and will purify their deeds. O Allah! If You know that Mu'adh bin Jabal truly heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then grant him and his family an abundant share of this disease. Consequently, those people were afflicted by the plague, and not one of them survived. Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) had his index finger wounded, so he used to say that he would not like his finger to be saved and for him to receive red camels.
