Hadith 11846
عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْبَارِقِيِّ، قَالَ: عَرَضَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَلَبٌ فَأَعْطَانِي دِينَارًا وَقَالَ: ”أَيْ عُرْوَةُ ائْتِ الْجَلَبَ فَاشْتَرِ لَنَا شَاةً?“، فَأَتَيْتُ الْجَلَبَ فَسَاوَمْتُ صَاحِبَهُ فَاشْتَرَيْتُ مِنْهُ شَاتَيْنِ بِدِينَارٍ، فَجِئْتُ أَسُوقُهُمَا أَوْ قَالَ أَقُودُهُمَا، فَلَقِيَنِي رَجُلٌ فَسَاوَمَنِي فَأَبِيعُهُ شَاةً بِدِينَارٍ، فَجِئْتُ بِالدِّينَارِ وَجِئْتُ بِالشَّاةِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! هَذَا دِينَارُكُمْ وَهَذِهِ شَاتُكُمْ، قَالَ: ”وَصَنَعْتَ كَيْفَ?“، قَالَ: فَحَدَّثْتُهُ الْحَدِيثَ، فَقَالَ: ”اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُ فِي صَفْقَةِ يَمِينِهِ“، فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي أَقِفُ بِكُنَاسَةِ الْكُوفَةِ فَأَرْبَحُ أَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفًا قَبْلَ أَنْ أَصِلَ إِلَى أَهْلِي، وَكَانَ يَشْتَرِي الْجَوَارِي وَيَبِيعُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin Abi J’ad al-Bariqi (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Merchandise was brought before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me one dinar and said: “Urwah! Go and buy a goat for us.” I went to the place of sale, that is, the market, and after settling the deal with the owner, I bought two goats for one dinar. I was driving them back when I met a man on the way; he made a deal with me for one goat, and I sold him one goat for one dinar. I returned with one dinar and one goat. I submitted: “O Messenger of Allah! Here is the dinar you gave and here is a goat.” He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: “How is this?” In response, I related the entire incident to him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Allah! Bless him in his buying and selling.” (Due to the blessing of this supplication of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) I have seen myself in such a state that I would be standing on the dirty dung heap of Kufa and before reaching home, I would have earned forty thousand in profit. This companion used to trade in slave girls.
