Hadith 11767
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَاهُ قَوْمٌ بِصَدَقَةٍ قَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ“ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَةٍ فَقَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى“
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him), who was among the Companions of the Tree, narrates that when people would bring charity to present before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would supplicate for them in this way: O Allah! Have mercy upon them. When my father brought charity, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated thus: "Allahumma salli 'ala Aal Abi Awfa" (O Allah! Send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa).
Hadith 11768
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَاهُ قَوْمٌ بِصَدَقَتِهِمْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَقَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى“
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when people would present charity to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray for mercy for them. When my father brought charity to him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed as follows: "O Allah! Send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa."
Hadith 11769
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِصَدَقَتِهِ قَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ فُلَانٍ“ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَقَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى“
(Third chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa رضي الله عنه, who was among the Companions of the Tree, that when someone would bring charity to the service of the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, he would pray for him in this way: O Allah! Have mercy on the family of so-and-so. When my father brought charity to the service, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم prayed in this way: ALLAHUMMA SALLI ‘ALA AALI ABI AWFA (O Allah! Send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa).
