Hadith 11737
قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ، خَرَجْتُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَاهِبًا نَحْوَ الْغَابَةِ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنْتُ بِثَنِيَّةِ الْغَابَةِ، لَقِيَنِي غُلَامٌ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَيْحَكَ! مَا لَكَ؟ قَالَ: أُخِذَتْ لِقَاحُ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَنْ أَخَذَهَا؟ قَالَ: غَطَفَانُ وَفَزَارَةُ، قَالَ: فَصَرَخْتُ ثَلَاثَ صَرَخَاتٍ أَسْمَعْتُ مَنْ بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا، يَا صَبَاحَاهْ! يَا صَبَاحَاهْ! ثُمَّ انْدَفَعْتُ حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُمْ وَقَدْ أَخَذُوهَا، قَالَ: فَجَعَلْتُ أَرْمِيهِمْ وَأَقُولُ: أَنَا ابْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ وَالْيَوْمُ يَوْمُ الرُّضَّعِ، قَالَ: فَاسْتَنْقَذْتُهَا مِنْهُمْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا، فَأَقْبَلْتُ بِهَا أَسُوقُهَا فَلَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰهِ! إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ عِطَاشٌ وَإِنِّي أَعْجَلْتُهُمْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا فَاذْهَبْ فِي أَثَرِهِمْ، فَقَالَ: ((يَا ابْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ! مَلَكْتَ فَأَسْجِحْ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ يُقْرَوْنَ فِي قَوْمِهِمْ۔))
It is narrated from Yazid bin Abi Ubaid that Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him that he set out from Madinah Munawwarah to go towards Ghabah. When he was in the valley or path of Ghabah, he met the son of Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). He said, “Good for you, what has happened to you?” He replied, “The she-camels of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) have been looted.” I asked, “Who has looted them?” He informed, “The people of Ghatafan and Fazara.” Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Upon hearing this, I loudly called out three times, “Ya Sabahah!”—the call was so loud and sharp that it reached the people between the two Harrahs of Madinah. Then I ran after those people until I caught up with them; they had already taken possession of the she-camels. I began shooting arrows at them and kept reciting this rajaz: “I am the son of Akwa’, and today is the day of the destruction of the vile!” Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Before they could go anywhere to drink water, I rescued the she-camels from them. I returned with the she-camels and met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Those people are still thirsty, and I reached them before they could drink water. Please pursue them.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O son of Akwa’! You have already prevailed over them, now be gentle. Hospitality is being shown to them among the people.”
Hadith 11738
عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ ضَرْبَةٍ فِي سَاقِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا مُسْلِمٍ! مَا هٰذِهِ الضَّرْبَةُ؟ قَالَ: هٰذِهِ ضَرْبَةٌ أُصِبْتُهَا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ، قَالَ: يَوْمَ أُصِبْتُهَا، قَالَ النَّاسُ: أُصِيبَ سَلَمَةُ، فَأُتِيَ بِي رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فَنَفَثَ فِيهَا ثَلَاثَ نَفَثَاتٍ، فَمَا اشْتَكَيْتُهَا حَتَّى السَّاعَةِ۔
It is narrated from Yazid bin Ubaid, he says: I saw a scar of a wound on the shin of Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him). I asked: Abu Muslim! What is this scar? He said: On the day of Khaybar I was wounded, this is the mark of that. The day I received this wound, people said: Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) has received a severe wound. I was brought to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he blew three times on the wound with his saliva, after that I have not felt any pain in it until now.
Hadith 11739
وَعَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: جَاءَنِي عَمِّي عَامِرٌ فَقَالَ: أَعْطِنِي سَلَاحَكَ! قَالَ: فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ قَالَ: فَجِئْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰهِ! أَبْغِنِي سَلَاحَكَ؟ قَالَ: ((أَيْنَ سَلَاحُكَ؟)) قَالَ: أَعْطَيْتُهُ عَمِّي عَامِرًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: ((مَا أَجِدُ شِبْهَكَ إِلَّا الَّذِي قَالَ هَبْ لِي أَخًا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ نَفْسِي۔)) قَالَ: فَأَعْطَانِي قَوْسَهُ وَمَجَانَهُ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَسْهُمٍ مِنْ كِنَانَتِهِ۔
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: My uncle Sayyiduna ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and said: Give me your weapons. I gave him my weapons. Then I went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Please grant me your weapons. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Where are your weapons? I replied: I have given them to my uncle Sayyiduna ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I find in your case the same example as of the one who prayed: O Allah, grant me such a brother who is dearer to me than my own life. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me his bow, shields, and three arrows from his quiver.
Hadith 11740
عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ فَذَكَرَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ وَيَوْمَ الْقَرْدِ وَيَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ يَزِيدُ: وَنَسِيتُ بَقِيَّتَهُنَّ۔
Yazid bin Abi Ubaid narrates that it is reported from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I participated in seven battles in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then he mentioned the names of Hudaybiyyah, Hunayn, Qard, and Khaybar. Yazid bin Abi Ubaid says that I have forgotten the names of the remaining three battles.
Hadith 11741
عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ ”أَنْتُمْ أَهْلُ بَدْوِنَا وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ حَضَرِكُمْ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I presented myself before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are our villager and we are your townspeople.
