Hadith 11686
It is narrated from Haritha bin Mudarrib, he says: I went to serve Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him), he had undergone seven cauterizations for the treatment of an illness, but there was no relief. He said: If I had not heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that none of you should wish for death, I would certainly have wished for death. I have seen myself with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in such a state that I did not have even a single dirham, and now the situation is that there are forty thousand dirhams in one corner of my house. After this, his shroud was brought to him, he looked at it and began to weep, and then said: We have such a shroud, but Sayyiduna Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) also was there, and for his shroud there was only a striped sheet; when it was placed over his head, his feet would be uncovered, and when it was placed over his feet, his head would be uncovered. In the end, it was placed over his head and idhkhir grass was placed over his feet.

Hadith 11687
Sayyiduna Khabbab bin Al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We migrated with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for the pleasure of Allah Almighty, so our reward became assured with Allah (as He has promised). Then among us were some who departed to Allah without having consumed the reward of their deeds; among them was Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him), who was martyred on the day of Uhud. For his shroud, we could find only one sheet, and it was so short that when we covered his head, his feet became uncovered, and when we covered his feet, his head became uncovered. Eventually, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to cover his head and to place idhkhir (a type of grass) on his feet. While among us are also those whose fruit has ripened and now he is gathering it.

Hadith 11688
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) that we complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the oppression of the disbelievers, while he was lying in the shade of the Ka'bah with a cloth placed under his head. We said to him: "Why do you not supplicate to Allah for our help?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those before you also faced such situations that a man would be dug into the ground and made to stand in it, and then a saw would be placed on his head and he would be cut into two pieces. Even such oppression would not turn them away from their religion. And iron combs would be run over their bodies, tearing the flesh from their bones and nerves, yet they would not turn back from their religion. By Allah, Allah will surely complete and make His religion prevail to such an extent that a rider will travel from Madinah Munawwarah to Hadramaut and will fear none but Allah. He will not even fear a wolf attacking his sheep. But you are being impatient."
