It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: When I reached near Madinah Munawwarah, I made my mount sit down, opened my bag, put on my best clothes, and then went to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. I greeted him with salam. People began to look at me attentively, so I asked the person sitting next to me: O servant of Allah! Has the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned me in any context? He said: Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has just mentioned you in a very good manner. During his sermon, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Just now, a man is coming to you through this door who is among the best people of Yemen; there will be a sign of a king on his face. Then Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: For the honors with which Allah Almighty has blessed me, I expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that since I accepted Islam, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never prevented me from coming to him, and whenever he saw me, he smiled.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Will you not relieve me from Dhu al-Khalasah (the idol temple)?" It was an idol temple of the tribe of Khath'am in Yemen, which was called the Yemeni Ka'bah. So I set out with one hundred and seventy (and according to another narration, one hundred and fifty) horsemen. I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "I cannot sit firmly on a horse." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck his blessed hand on my chest with such force that I felt the marks of his fingers on my chest, and he prayed: "O Allah, grant him the ability to sit firmly, and make him a guide to the right path and one who is rightly guided." They went to that idol temple, destroyed it, and burned it to ashes, and sent a man to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to give him the good news. The messenger of Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) informed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "By Him Who has sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I saw it, after burning, completely blackened like a mangy camel." Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessing five times for the horsemen and foot soldiers of Ahmas.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on these matters: that I would listen to your command and obey it, and that I would deal with every Muslim with goodwill. Abu Zur’ah says that when Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) would buy something and in his opinion the thing was priced higher than the agreed price, he would say to the seller: By Allah! What we have given you, compared to what we have taken from you, is more beloved to us. It is as if, by saying this, he would encourage the seller and fulfill the requirement of the pledge he had made.
