Hadith 11634
عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَأَتَتْهُ بِتَمْرٍ وَسَمْنٍ وَكَانَ صَائِمًا فَقَالَ ”أَعِيدُوا تَمْرَكُمْ فِي وِعَائِهِ وَسَمْنَكُمْ فِي سِقَائِهِ“ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى نَاحِيَةِ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا لِأُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ وَلِأَهْلِهَا بِخَيْرٍ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي خُوَيْصَّةً قَالَ ”وَمَا هِيَ“ قَالَتْ خَادِمُكَ أَنَسٌ قَالَ فَمَا تَرَكَ خَيْرَ آخِرَةٍ وَلَا دُنْيَا إِلَّا دَعَا لِي بِهِ وَقَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْهُ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيهِ“ قَالَ فَمَا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِنْسَانٌ أَكْثَرُ مِنِّي مَالًا وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَمْلِكُ ذَهَبًا وَلَا فِضَّةً غَيْرَ خَاتَمِهِ قَالَ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّ ابْنَتَهُ الْكُبْرَى أُمَيْنَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهُ دُفِنَ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ إِلَى مَقْدَمِ الْحَجَّاجِ نَيِّفًا عَلَى عِشْرِينَ وَمِائَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) visited Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her). She presented dates and ghee to him, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting that day, so he said: "Put the dates back in their pouch and the ghee back in its container." After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood in a corner of the house and performed two rak‘ahs, and we also prayed with him. Then he supplicated for blessings for Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) and her family. Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have a special request." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is it?" She said: "This is your servant, Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him); please make a special supplication for him." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for every good of this world and the Hereafter for me and said: "O Allah! Grant him abundant wealth and children, and bless him in them." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) stated that among all the Ansar, no one had more wealth than him, while previously he only had a ring, and his eldest daughter Amina reported that Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) had, with his own hands, buried about one hundred and twenty-five or twenty-six of his children before the coming of Hajjaj bin Yusuf.
Hadith 11635
عَنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَسٌ خَادِمُكَ ادْعُ اللَّهَ لَهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَهُ“ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَخْبَرَنِي بَعْضُ وَلَدِي أَنَّهُ قَدْ دُفِنَ مِنْ وَلَدِي وَوَلَدِ وَلَدِي أَكْثَرُ مِنْ مِائَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) that she submitted: O Messenger of Allah! This Anas is your servant, please supplicate to Allah for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated thus: O Allah! Increase him in wealth and children, and bless him in whatever You grant him. The narrator of the hadith, Hajjaj, mentioned in his narration that Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) informed that some of his children told him that more than one hundred people from his children and grandchildren had been buried.
Hadith 11636
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ كَانَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Sirin narrates that in both travel and residence, Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was the most beautiful performer of prayer.
Hadith 11637
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَخَذَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِيَدِي فَانْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَنَسًا غُلَامٌ كَيِّسٌ فَلْيَخْدُمْكَ قَالَ فَخَدَمْتُهُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ وَاللَّهِ مَا قَالَ لِي لِشَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا هَاكَذَا وَلَا لِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ لِمَ لَمْ تَصْنَعْ هَذَا هَاكَذَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah (after migration), Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) took my hand and brought me to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is an intelligent and clever child; let him serve you. Thus, I (Anas) served the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for ten years during travel and at home. By Allah! If I did something, he never said to me, "Why did you do this?" And if I did not do something, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never said to me, "Why did you not do it this way?"
Hadith 11638
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَخَذَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا بِيَدِي مَقْدَمَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَتَتْ بِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا ابْنِي وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ كَاتِبٌ قَالَ فَخَدَمْتُهُ تِسْعَ سِنِينَ فَمَا قَالَ لِي لِشَيْءٍ قَطُّ صَنَعْتُهُ أَسَأْتَ أَوْ بِئْسَ مَا صَنَعْتَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, my mother, Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her), took me by the hand and brought me to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My son knows how to read and write. (Please accept him for your service.) Thus, I served you for nine years. If I ever did anything, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never said to me that you have done a bad thing, or you have done a wrong thing.
Hadith 11639
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَقَدْ سَقَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَدَحِي هَذَا الشَّرَابَ كُلَّهُ الْعَسَلَ وَالْمَاءَ وَاللَّبَنَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have given the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) honey, water, and milk, in fact every kind of drink, from my this cup.
Hadith 11640
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَوَجِّهًا إِلَى أَهْلِي فَمَرَرْتُ بِغِلْمَانٍ يَلْعَبُونَ فَأَعْجَبَنِي لَعِبُهُمْ فَقُمْتُ عَلَى الْغِلْمَانِ فَانْتَهَى إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا قَائِمٌ عَلَى الْغِلْمَانِ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْغِلْمَانِ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَاجَةٍ لَهُ فَرَجَعْتُ فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى أَهْلِي بَعْدَ السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي كُنْتُ أَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا فَقَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي مَا حَبَسَكَ الْيَوْمَ يَا بُنَيَّ فَقُلْتُ أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَاجَةٍ لَهُ فَقَالَتْ أَيُّ حَاجَةٍ يَا بُنَيَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا أُمَّاهُ إِنَّهَا سِرٌّ فَقَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ احْفَظْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِرَّهُ قَالَ ثَابِتٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ أَتَحْفَظُ تِلْكَ الْحَاجَةَ الْيَوْمَ أَوْ تَذْكُرُهَا قَالَ إِي وَاللَّهِ وَإِنِّي لَا أَذْكُرُهَا وَلَوْ كُنْتُ مُحَدِّثًا بِهَا أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ لَحَدَّثْتُكَ بِهَا يَا ثَابِتُ
It is narrated from Thabit Banani that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I left the presence of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and was heading towards my family. On the way, I passed by some children who were playing. I liked their play, so I stopped there to watch them. While I was still standing there, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came there. He greeted the children with salam and sent me on an errand. When I completed the task and returned, I reached home a little later than usual. My mother asked me: Son! Why were you late? I replied: Mother! This is a secret matter. She said: Son! Guard the secret of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Thabit says, I asked: Abu Hamza! Do you still remember that task today? He said: Yes, by Allah, I remember it, but I will not tell. Thabit! If I were to tell anyone among the people, I would have surely told you.
Hadith 11641
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا ابْنُ عَشْرٍ وَمَاتَ وَأَنَا ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: When the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, I was ten years old, and when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away, I was twenty years old.
Hadith 11642
عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عُمِّرَ مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ غَيْرَ سَنَةٍ
It is narrated from Humaid that the age of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was ninety-nine years.
