Hadith 11530
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was seated on the pulpit. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the Ansar: The example of the general people's relationship with me is like an outer garment, and the relationship of the Ansar with me is like a garment that is attached to the body (i.e., the Ansar are my special people). If the general people walk in one valley and the Ansar in another mountain pass, then I would prefer to walk in the pass of the Ansar, and if there were no virtue in migration, I would have been one of the Ansar myself. Whoever attains authority and rule over the Ansar should treat their righteous ones with kindness, and if any of them makes a mistake, he should overlook it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards himself and said: Whoever frightened them, it is as if he frightened me.
Hadith 11531
It is narrated from Ali bin Zaid that when a complaint from a representative of the Ansar reached Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Zubair, he intended to (rebuke or punish) him regarding it. Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) went to Sayyiduna Mus'ab and said to him: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: I advise you to treat the Ansar well; accept the word of the one among them who is righteous, and if any of them commits a fault, then forgive him. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Mus'ab threw himself down from his bed, placed his cheek on the mat, and said: The command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is upon my eyes and head. Then he let that Ansari go and said nothing to him.
Hadith 11532
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (during the days of his final illness) came out with a cloth wrapped around his head and face and said: O people! The general populace is increasing in number while the Ansar are decreasing in number, so whoever among you attains authority over the affairs (of leadership) and is able to benefit someone, he should accept the words of the virtuous among the Ansar, and if any of them makes a mistake, he should overlook it.
Hadith 11533
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Ziyad Sa’idi Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Trench, he came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking the pledge of migration from the people. Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Take the pledge from this man as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who is he? He said: He is my cousin, Hut bin Yazid or Yazid bin Hut. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not take the pledge from you; people will migrate to you, you will not migrate to them. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad! Whoever continues to love the Ansar until he meets Allah, he will meet Allah in such a state that Allah will love him. But whoever harbors enmity towards the Ansar until he meets Allah, he will meet Allah in such a state that Allah will have enmity towards him.
Hadith 11534
Ubaidullah bin Abi Bakr narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Anas, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Ansar gathered together and complained, "How long will we keep drawing water from these wells? Let us go to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and request him to pray to Allah so that He may cause springs to flow for us from these mountains." So they all gathered and went to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. When he saw them, he welcomed them and said, "Some special need has brought you to me." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, that is the case." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Today, whatever you ask for will be granted to you, and whatever I ask from Allah, He will grant it to me." Hearing this, they began to look at each other and said, "Have you come to seek the world? Ask for success in the Hereafter." All of them unanimously said, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah for our forgiveness." So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "O Allah! Forgive the Ansar, their sons, and their grandsons." The Ansar said, "O Messenger of Allah! Also pray for our children who are not from the Ansar." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Forgive all the children of the Ansar." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! Also pray for the slaves and slave-girls of the Ansar." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "O Allah! Forgive the slaves and slave-girls of the Ansar as well." Ubaidullah bin Abi Bakr narrates that my mother narrated to me from Umm Hakam bint Nu'man bin Sahba, who said that she heard Sayyiduna Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrate from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the same way, except that in it the Ansar further requested, "O Messenger of Allah, also pray for forgiveness for the wives of our sons and the wives of our brothers."
Hadith 11535
. (Second chain) When carrying water on camels and irrigating the fields became difficult for the Ansar, they gathered together and went to the service of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so that they could request him to permit them to dig a flowing canal. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to them: Welcome, O Ansar! By Allah, whatever you ask of me today, I will grant it to you, and whatever I ask of Allah for you, He will grant it to me. They said to one another: Consider this a precious opportunity and ask for forgiveness. All of them submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Please supplicate to Allah for forgiveness on our behalf. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated thus: O Allah! Forgive the Ansar, their children, and the children of their children.
Hadith 11536
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed, the Ansar are my most special, confidants, and trustworthy people. I sought refuge by coming to them. So accept the words of their virtuous ones, and if any of them falls short, then overlook it. They have fulfilled their covenant and pledge, but the fulfillment of their rights still remains.
Hadith 11537
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the children and women of the Ansar coming from a wedding, he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and said: Allah is witness that among you people, you are the most beloved to me. Allah is witness that you are among the people I love the most. Allah knows that you Ansar are among the people I love the most. In another narration, the words are as follows: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you are the most beloved to me among all people.
Hadith 11538
It is narrated from Nadr bin Anas that Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) during the days of the incident of Harrah to console him over the killing of his children and members of his tribe, and said: I want to give you glad tidings from Allah Almighty. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O Allah! Forgive the Ansar, their sons, and their grandsons. Forgive the women of the Ansar, the wives of the sons of the Ansar, and the women of the grandsons of the Ansar.
Hadith 11539
It is narrated from Umar bin Murrah, he says: I heard Abu Hamzah Talhah bin Yazid say, the Ansar submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Every prophet has some followers, we have followed you. Now pray that Allah Almighty makes our followers from among us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for them that Allah Almighty makes their followers from among them. I mentioned this hadith to Ibn Abi Layla, so he said that Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) has also done the same.
Hadith 11540
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Loving the Ansar is a sign of faith, and having enmity towards them is a sign of hypocrisy.
Hadith 11541
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This tribe of the Ansar is a means of testing people; loving them is faith and harboring enmity towards them is hypocrisy.
Hadith 11542
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever has faith in Allah and His Messenger does not bear enmity towards the Ansar. Or the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever bears enmity towards the Ansar, Allah and His Messenger bear enmity towards him.
Hadith 11543
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the flag of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to be with Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and the flag of the Ansar used to be in the hands of Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him). When the battle would become intense, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would go under the flag of the Ansar.
Hadith 11544
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar, and if people were to walk in a mountain pass or valley and the Ansar were in another mountain pass, I would walk in the mountain pass of the Ansar.
Hadith 11545
Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that some people from the Ansar gathered together and discussed among themselves that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has given preference to others over us. When this matter reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he gathered the Ansar and addressed them, saying: O group of Ansar! Is it not true that you were humiliated and disgraced, and Allah honored you? They said: Allah and His Messenger speak the truth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is it not also true that you were misguided and Allah granted you guidance? They said: Allah and His Messenger speak the absolute truth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is it not also true that you were poor and Allah made you rich and prosperous? They said: Allah and His Messenger speak the truth. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why do you not reply to me by saying, O Messenger! Your people expelled you from your city, and we gave you refuge; you came to us in fear, and we granted you security? O Ansar! Are you not pleased that people will return with sheep and cattle, while you will return with the Messenger of Allah with you, and you will take this Messenger into your homes? The reality is that if people were to walk in a valley or a mountain pass, I would walk in the valley or mountain pass in which you walk. If it were not for the honor of migration, I would have been an Ansari. Soon after me, you will see even greater preference and distinction, but in such a situation, you must remain patient until you meet me at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar.
Hadith 11546
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, then narrated as in the previous hadith, except that in this one it is stated: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to them: You will see great preference and discrimination after me, but in such a situation, be patient until you meet Allah and His Messenger. I will be your forerunner at the Pond of Kawthar. Sayyiduna Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, says: But we did not remain patient.
Hadith 11547
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the Ansar: The people of faith love them and the hypocrites harbor enmity towards them. Whoever loves them, Allah will love him, and whoever harbors enmity towards them, Allah Almighty will harbor enmity towards him. The narrator of the hadith, Shu’bah, said to his teacher: Did you yourself hear this hadith from Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him)? He replied: Yes, Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) himself narrated it to me.
Hadith 11548
It is narrated from Rabah bin Abdur Rahman, who says: My grandmother narrated to me from her father (Sayyiduna Saeed bin Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The prayer of the one who does not have ablution is not accepted, and the ablution of the one who does not mention Allah (i.e., does not recite Bismillah) is not accepted. And whoever does not believe in me (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him), will not be able to believe in Allah Almighty. And the servant who does not love the Ansar, will not be able to believe in me.
Hadith 11549
Abdullah bin Ka'b bin Malik Ansari, this Ka'b is one of the three whose repentance was accepted, narrates that a companion related to him that one day the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out with a cloth tied on his head and said in his sermon: "Amma ba'd! O group of Muhajireen! Your numbers are increasing and the Ansar are no longer in their former numbers. These Ansar are my special and trusted people, to whom I turned for refuge. Therefore, continue to honor their respected ones and forgive those among them who fall short."
Hadith 11550
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the polytheists attacked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was accompanied by seven Ansar and two Qurayshis, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Who will drive these polytheists away from us? Whoever does so will be my companion in Paradise as a result of this deed. In response, one of the Ansar stepped forward and kept fighting the enemy, defending the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), until he was martyred. When the polytheists attacked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again, he said again: Who is there who will drive these polytheists away from us and keep them at bay? As a result of this deed, he will be my companion in Paradise. In this way, all seven Ansar were martyred. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) then said to his two Qurayshi companions: We have not done justice to our brothers.
Hadith 11551
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently visit and meet both the distinguished and the general people among the Ansar. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit a particular person, he would go to his house, and when he wished to meet the general people, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would stay in the mosque.
Hadith 11552
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Persian slave, that he said: I was with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Battle of Uhud. I struck a polytheist with great force and said: "Taste this, I am a Persian boy." When this reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Why did you not say, 'Taste this, I am an Ansari boy'?"
Hadith 11553
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no harm for that woman who stays in the houses of the Ansar or stays in her parents’ house.
