Hadith 11522
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon at the place of Jabiyah, saying: Once, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us just as I am standing among you, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I advise you to treat my companions well, and also those who will come after them, and also those who will come after (the Tabi‘in); (I advise you to treat them well). After that, lying will become so widespread that a man will begin to give testimony before he is asked for it. So whoever among you wishes to enter Paradise, let him adhere to the congregation of the Muslims, for Satan is with the one who is alone, and he is a little farther from two people. None of you should be alone with a non-mahram woman, for the third among such two is Satan. And whoever is pleased by doing a good deed and displeased by committing a sin, he is a believer.
Hadith 11523
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was some harsh exchange of words between Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him): "You speak arrogantly to us only because you accepted Islam a few days before us." When this matter was mentioned to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not say anything about my Companions for my sake. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, even if you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud or many mountains, you would not reach their deeds, that is, their ranks."
Hadith 11524
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We performed the Maghrib prayer in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then we said that it would be better if we waited a while and performed the ‘Isha prayer in his company before leaving. So we began to wait. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: “Did you remain here?” We replied: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah! We just thought that we would perform the ‘Isha prayer in your company as well.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You did well.” Then he raised his head towards the sky, as was his habit that he would often raise his head towards the sky, then he said: “These stars are the guardians (protectors and watchers) of the sky; when these stars disappear, then that condition will befall the sky which has been promised to it, that is, the sky will be torn apart and shattered. I am also a guardian for my companions in the same way; when I depart from this world, then those tribulations and trials will come upon my companions which have been promised to them. And my companions are guardians and protectors for my Ummah; when my companions depart from this world, then that era of tribulations will begin for my Ummah which has been promised to them.”
Hadith 11525
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fear Allah regarding my Companions, fear Allah regarding my Companions, do not make them a target of abuse and criticism after me. So whoever loves them, indeed he loves them because of his love for me, and whoever harbors enmity towards them, in reality, he harbors enmity towards them because of his enmity towards me. And whoever causes them harm, in fact, he has caused me harm, and whoever causes me harm, in reality, he has caused harm to Allah Almighty, and whoever causes harm to Allah, then soon Allah will call him to account.
Hadith 11526
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was asked from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Are we, the Companions, superior or the people who will come after us? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any man from those who come after were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, it would not reach even one mudd or half a mudd of what you have spent.
Hadith 11527
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not revile my Companions, for their status is such that if any one of you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, it would not reach even a mudd or half a mudd of what my Companions have spent.
Hadith 11528
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tariq bin Ashyam, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The killing of my Companions is itself sufficient.
Hadith 11529
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Allah Almighty looked upon the hearts of His servants and found the heart of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to be the best among all human hearts, so He chose Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) for Himself and sent him with the message of Prophethood. Then, after selecting this heart, He looked upon the hearts of the rest of the servants and found the hearts of the companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to be the best among all human hearts, so He made them the ministers (and companions) of His Prophet, who fight for His religion. Thus, whatever the Muslims consider good is also good in the sight of Allah, and whatever the Muslims consider bad is also bad in the sight of Allah. 1
