Hadith 11492
عَنْ سَفِينَةَ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَعْتَقَتْنِي أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا وَاشْتَرَطَتْ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَخْدُمَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا عَاشَ
It is narrated from Abu Abdur Rahman Sayyiduna Safina (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) set me free and placed this condition upon me that as long as the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is alive, I will continue to serve him.
Hadith 11493
عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ إِنَّ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ نَظَرَ إِلَى الْخَاتَمِ الَّذِي عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَآمَنَ بِهِ وَكَانَ لِلْيَهُودِ فَاشْتَرَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكَذَا وَكَذَا الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, that this is a long hadith, in which it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Salman Farsi, may Allah be pleased with him, saw the Seal of Prophethood on the blessed back of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and accepted faith. He was in the possession of the Jews, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had purchased him.
Hadith 11494
عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَقَالَ لِأَبِي رَافِعٍ ”اصْحَبْنِي كَيْمَا تُصِيبَ مِنْهَا“ قَالَ لَا حَتَّى آتِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَسْأَلَهُ فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ ”الصَّدَقَةُ لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا وَإِنَّ مَوْلَى الْقَوْمِ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent a member of Banu Makhzum to collect charity, so he said to Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him): “Get ready to go with me so that you may also receive a share.” He replied: “No, I will not go until I ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).” So he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and asked him about this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: “It is not lawful for us to take charity, and a slave of a people is considered one of them.”
Hadith 11495
عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ ابْنَةَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَرَدَّتْهَا وَقَالَتْ حَدَّثَنِي مَوْلًى لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مِهْرَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ”إِنَّا آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ وَمَوْلَى الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ“
Ata bin Saib says: I brought an item of charity to Sayyida Umm Kulthum bint Ali (may Allah be pleased with her), but she returned it and said: Mawla Nabi Sayyidna Mehran narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We, the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), charity is not lawful for us, and also, the servant of a people is counted among them.
Hadith 11496
عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُلَامٌ يُسَمَّى رَبَاحًا
Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the name of a slave of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) was Rabah.
Hadith 11497
عَنْ أَبِي مُوَيْهِبَةَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أُمِرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَقِيعِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَتِ اللَّيْلَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ قَالَ ”يَا أَبَا مُوَيْهِبَةَ أَسْرِجْ لِي دَابَّتِي“ قَالَ فَرَكِبَ فَمَشَيْتُ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِمْ فَنَزَلَ عَنْ دَابَّتِهِ وَأَمْسَكْتُ الدَّابَّةَ وَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ قَالَ قَامَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ ”لِيَهْنِكُمْ مَا أَنْتُمْ فِيهِ“ الْحَدِيثَ
The servant of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, Sayyiduna Abu Muwayhibah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, received a command from Allah Almighty to supplicate for forgiveness for the people of Baqi’. So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, supplicated for them three times. When it was the second night, he, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Abu Muwayhibah! Saddle my mount." So he mounted it, and I walked along with him on foot. When we went ahead, he dismounted from his mount and I stood holding the mount. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood by the people of Baqi’ and said: "Congratulations to you for the state you are in."
